General Charles Krulak has insisted that Aston Villa will not stand in Gareth Barry's way if he wants to leave the club.The Villa captain has two years left to run on his contract but has been widely linked with a move away from the Midlands.Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal have all been linked with the midfielder and Krulak, Villa owner Randy Lerner's right-hand man, accepts it could be difficult to keep him.Krulak would like Barry to stay with the club but insists it is up to the player to make the decision."Obviously, we are keen to keep our captain - and we will do all in our power to keep him. But at the same time, he plays a huge part in this equation," said Krulak."At the end of the day, he needs to want to stay. The very worst thing we could do would be to try and hold onto a player who wants to leave."I hope that we can show him that his future is, in fact, at Aston Villa. We will work hard to do just that."
Will show a lack of ambition if they let him leave imo altough you cant keep an unhappy player at his club..Only seems to have gained attention from the big clubs since he got recalled into the England Squad..Cant see him starting for any of those teams though unless Alonso or Lampard leave there club..Not about ending up as some Steve Sidwell...

:D lolhe aint all thathis loss would result in a greater hurt for us than your gain imohe's the captain and face of our clubhe's a good player, but hes not exceptional enough at anything to ever be fantasticthat being said he would slot right in alongside mascherano at poolI reckon he will stay in the end, hes had chances to go before - and after todays results we should be getting europe and thats what he says he wants.these Krulak quotes are a week or two old as well, and as much of a legend The General is, he dont actually hold much weight in our club - hes just a communicator between the fans and clubs (he posts on fan-forums and such)although we wouldnt stand in his way - we will do everything in our power to keep him.

I think Liverpool would want him because he would bring balance to the their midfield , and when i say balance i mean him being left footed and slowing things down as Gerrard doesn't know how to stop with the ball and make short passes. Also Gerrard is meant to be a fan of Barry . I personally feel this transfer is to suit Steven Gerrard to be frank.

Barry is a good footballer, ive rated him since the Keegan daysFor England he is average imo, he shouldn't be playing, Carrick is x10 the player he is.But for Villa Barry is diff class imo, he starts moves, good quality on the ball, good delivery, decent engine..
