The Somalian Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 We don’t live in a ghetto, whats wrong with these people we have a warefare state, the government pays you because you don’t have a job they pay ur rent they even pay college kids to go college why are people claiming ghetto? What ghetto do you know where there are houses costing quarter a million pound plus each all along the road. Yes some people live in poverty I have been to peoples yard and they eat fish fingers and beans for dinner and thought to myself even my dog eats more than this. Swear down if anyone was tough times in this country and they were dedicated they can change their life around within 5 years where I mean they can live nice have a good car (even them girls who have a whole bag of kids) people who are chatting about they can not get a job etc are living with some mental block. I have been to countries where peoples houses favour a shed with a piece of zinc on the top no electric proper ghettos. The Drama Posted June 12, 2008 Report Share Posted June 12, 2008 I get what your trying to say but there is “ghetto’s” in London, Nottingham, Birmingham in fact nearly every city in England, take St Anne’s the majority of black and Asians are allocated houses in this area segregated from the whites, obviously not all white people refuse to live there, there is a small portion but what im trying to say is A ghetto is described as a portion of a city in which members of a minority group live especially because of social, legal, or economic pressure. Let me put it this way I am from hackney a so called ghetto no one has ever said to me you can not have a job because your from hackney. That is what happens to people from ghettos they can not get work.
