having just watched poetic justice *see stayin up late goons thread* ive realised that i dont like john singleton as a director. His films always start off with a purpose underlying moral/message but its never conveyed properly/diluted by some other less important sub plot kmt.

Will be watching 'A prophet' over the weekend, if it wasn't for the baftas I would of probally of never heard of it.
Great film.Anyways looks like an interesting night ahead of me with;*Lawrence Of Arabia*Predator*The Hurtlocker*The Crazies - originalNever seen Lawrence Of Arabia but of course it's listed as one of the greatest of all time and I do enjoy sitting down watch some of these epics or just old classics. Get a feel for how films use to be made.

is lovely bones any good guys?
deep storylinedeep metaphors, deep effects, and there's actually a point to them. reccomend over any other film out in cinema at the moment.and if You're 1 of those people who reads the books and then doesnt like the films, this will be an exception, people who read the book like the film.

tbh i thought visually avatar was f*ck*ng epic.but 3D is there to make it engage more to the audience, i didnt think it did that enough tbh....there was one bit where we had 1st person view when jake 1st gets into his avatar, if there were more points of views like that (especially in the battle) i think it would make it just that bit better....

yeh when i see a 3d film, i expect things to fly out at me and scare me like the sword in bloody valentine. avatar didnt have this. it was just like a "3d world" to make You feel like You're there, waste of 3d photography for me. camera views when he was fighting the monster at the start were deep though.
