How do you go about in group interviews? (My mate was asking)

I've done 3 and made it through 2. The main thing I think is try and think outside the box. The problem will always be put forward in a way that it seems like you have to choose option a or b. Try to suggest a mixture of the good points of a and b. Or even propose a new option Also don't try to dominate the conversation try to bring other people into it instead. There's always someone who's going to try and boss the convo cos they think they know most and won't listen to anyone else. Your job is to make an effort so the people who are intimidated by this person are brought out of their shell. When someone isn't saying anything or gets talked over, make a point of asking them their opinion or whether they can think o anything to improve the current solution. This shows that you understand the importance of receiving different perspectives an views when evaluating a problem. Finally when you know you're right and others don't agree/see where your come from don't revert to shouting the loudest or just letting your idea go unnoticed. Explain why your idea is good logically and try to explain why what's on the table already isn't as strong as your solution. Being able to bring other people round to your way of thinking with reason and logic is a big skill recruiters look for.

Anyone worked for an agency in the social care field?

Well I have but I mean like proper real life jobs like.

Anyway what are the downfalls apart from the obvious? I'm being offered £25 p/h to do the same job as I'm doing now but on a yearly rolling semi permenant contract with the option to work for the actual place after a year still on the same pay.

I don't wana be one of them like oh look at me taking a job for money people but I dunno, seems like a good offer.

Attention whore.com/ithoughtyouwereleaving is good for advice.

You're just a more refined EASE.

To answer ur q tho agency workers are easy to get rid of. You can be sacked easily with no pay off and u don't have the same entitlements to holiday, sick pay, maternity leave etc. Iirc

If you are willing to take the risk for extra pay. Do it.

About to do one application for a training adminstrator job. They say I need to have previous experience using Microsoft Access. I have not used that application since A-Level COmputing. Is it possible to blag is it like my gut tells me and not as simple to blag as Excel or Word?

yh blag it, an just look over tutorials etc before the interview although it is unlikely that they will ask you anything intricate about it

say you know how to develop databases which u must have done at A-Level

and say you used them in previous jobs, entering information etc make sure u say u have used it in the same or similar way to how u are expected to use it for this job

familiarise yourself with it (key terms and functions etc which are current), say u can do a bunch of stuff, then if u get the job u got some more time to brush up

/

the other candidates will be blaggin about something or other

do or die tites do or die
