Why are people chatting sh*t.

It is common knowledge that temps get paid more than permanent members of staff, but don't reap any of the benefits such as sick pay, annual leave etc.

The fact a permanent member is getting £500 more per month is a pisstake.

Why are people surpirsed he's pissed off?!

Anyone that spots any Junior Accountant jobs going let me know. Don't care if it is chicken change (obviously, can't really be below £12,000 after tax) as I just want experience. I will make forward movement once I have a foot in the door.

Anyone thought of doing voluntary work?

I'm doing some at the moment at Petchey Academy in Dalston after work on Mondays and Wednesdays. Helping kids with the academics for an hour before they go and play football. My first time last week was tough since the yout I had was challenging and didn't really want to do the work despite him being more than capable. Yesterday, I had one yout that was smart but he was easy to work with and proper appreciative. He said I'm better than his teachers at helping him with the work and I should be a teacher. Yout was proper grateful that I helped him with the maths work and told me I have made it so easy for him now. Not going to lie, I felt proper good knowing that he was appreciative. I strongly recommend people do it. It's a sick experience knowing that you are helping someone out especially when they show you they appreciate it. I'm doing two days a week but you can do one if you aren't sure how committed you will be.

It's funny you mention this cause lately ive been thinkin about this/looking into it. I have a strong interest/ knowledge in music so i was thinking that i wouldnt mind doing something relating to youth workshops and music production or something. Ive seen a couple things ima look into anyway and totally c/s about it being a rewarding.

This is pretty much what I will be doing and why I need my CRB check.

I'm gonna be doing a hour in a classroom with 6 students helping them academically then a hour and a half as a sort of 'reward' playing football, basketball etc.

But I'll be getting paid

Yo Tyred,

I do it through an organisation called Reach Out. I'm not sure if they do it in any other London schools but I do it at Petchey Academy in Dalston. I can ask the guy if they would be able to take on anymore volunteers and I'm pretty sure they would. You get a CRB done for free as well. Also, if you help out with the football as well as the academic side then I'm pretty sure I remember the coordinator saying they can put you on training to become an FA level 1 coach. If the overground was running to West Hampstead I would do it, but right now it's long enough getting home from Dalston straight after work let alone after 7pm. You would enjoy it fam. I was helping some Ghanaian yout on Wednesday. Made it so easy to build a rapport with him and be a positive influence on them.

But yeah, I'll speak to the guy and see. In the mean time, check do-it.org and see if you can find any volunteering vacancies there.

If it takes 2 people 4 hours to complete a task on weekdays why do these dopey slores get upset when I don't complete the same task even though I'm working by myself today and I've only got 2.5 hours to do it.

Common sense isn't very common these days.

Put fake experience on your CV as long as you know you can actually do what you have claimed to do or can have it backed up (ie. friend or family member pretending to be a reference).

Who else was it that wanted the information about voluntary work helping kids with academics before they play football? Spoke to the guy and he said as long as you drop him an email he'll get back to you adn probably will ask you to come in as soon as possible to start. You also get a free CRB out of it. I'm going to message Tyred in a bit still.
