BET is only like third year (of having a UK award, which is a token award anyway), where as MOBO is thirteen years deep with a severe chip pon shoulder.

For sure. Chip pon shoulder and sh*t reputation. They dont know what the people want and those in charge are follw batty which is why they arent respected.They are too busy tryna reach Brits levels instead of mixing that with being a groundbreaking black awards show. I mean how the f*ck do you give Sean Kingston 'Best Reggae Act' off a song which wasnt even faux-reggae? They sampled a RnB song, added an even bigger pop feel to it, but put a dude that left Jamaica about 6 years prior and had a slight accent with a Jamaica chain. Thats reggae then?

Tonight. Anyone going/watching?Just clocked, why is MIA up for an award? I swear she doesnt make music of black origin. If she's up then surely they could have included an award for funky/dubstep/bassline. I didn't say they was anything wrong with doing so. I just think it pointless & funny.Hardly anyone of them probably took an active role in making a difference in the nominations yet they disagree with it? Wanna run the mobos? Say they don't care & its a loud of bullshit? & even if they did take an active role, chances are slim that it will make a difference. Not only that, their nominations would be personally led where as the ppl making the nominations for the mobos are doing it collectively, analyzing the WHOLE scene using a list of categories which at times will result in wrong nominations. sh*t happens & thats life, when your not in a position to make a difference. You'll mostly disagree with ppl who are in positions of power.Much ado about nothing tbh
