was looking at the iphone 6 but the contract is mad. £30 upfront, £43 a month for 24 months for 2GB data with unlimited text/calls. would cost me over a grand by the time its done.

 

I could buy the phone out right for £530 and save myself in the long run, but the pain of spending so much at once on a phone is too much.

 

I could afford it, but just barely.

 

itll be beans and hardo bread for the next 2 months.

 

any advice?

Install problem

We're aware of issues with apps crashing and not installing - certificate was revoked. We're working on it!

if you have previously installed app, and fails to reinstall or open the app. you have to reset the time to 12/2014. For new users, we will update as soon as possible

Got a 6 on Friday, I was worried about battery life but I'm getting a day and a bit which isn't too bad tbh.

Was banging on about it first couple weeks of owning it.

But now I'm noticing me not using it in the evening as it's got low battery..

For me it lasts me taking it off charge at 8am through till the time I get home about 10pm with 20% spare.

The reason I'd assume why iOS8 devices would have worse battery is because they've got new background app processing features. The main feature I know about is "silent" push notifications, like normal push notifications you get a message from whatever service (FB, Google, etc) but instead of showing it to you up-front in your notification centre it makes the app run in the background, e.g. to download the latest podcast or newspaper articles.

 

In iOS 7 they could schedule this behaviour from the app on your device but in iOS 8 they can remotely activate it.

yeah mines decreased but still fine, lasted the whole day + streaming and use today from 35% because i forgot to charge last night. the last 1% lasted me my hour journey home.

If I see my phone on 5% or less i'm not even turning the screen on.
