Aquilani is a different sort of player to alonso. He is more attack minded than xabi i don't think he is a better passer than him though. However when it comes to set pieces Alberto exceeds alonso in that department. It's going to be interesting to see how Liverpool's midfield gel and play with each other.

I hope SSN are gassing, how can they report that we rejected £10M last week but somehow now he's had a medical ahead of a £8M move.SMFH.
You heard anything about Habib Beye??
We're holding out for £4M.Villa/Blackburn/Hull interested.Don't think anyone will pay £4M for him though.

So who still wants to bet Owill score 20+ goals this season?

Wont stay fit, and cos his season wont get going straight away cos Wenger will slowly put him into the side.

MON said we've bid for defenders. Beye, Distin and Warnock are my guesses.Delph says he rejected Man City for us:

Fabian Delph says he chose to join Aston Villa as manager Martin O'Neill has a proven track record of developing young talent. The 19-year-old was also wanted by Manchester City and reportedly by Everton, although it was Villa who won his signature.Few have turned down a move to Eastlands this summer as Mark Hughes assembles a squad capable of challenging for Premier League honours. However, Delph insists he is not motivated by money and that by leaving Leeds he is only looking to play and improve as a player.Track record"He's [O'Neill] got a track record of bringing on a lot of English talent and making them into players so that's my reason," explained Delph on his decision to choose Villa."No definitely not," when asked if he was tempted to join Hughes' City. "I'm not motivated by money."I want to develop as a player and try to become the best player that I possibly can and I felt that this is the club that can help me to develop."
