BT has announced that it will be launching a blistering 300Mbps broadband service later this year, pumping the very best of the web into our devices at ludicrous speeds.

Over 100,000 premises will be able to access the internet-on-steroids service, although specific areas and a release date have yet to be revealed.

£50 a month will nab you 300Mbps download and 20MB upload speeds with no usage limits or traffic management.

BT has also announced the HomeHub 5, which combines a router and modem into a single unit along with 802.11ac for faster and more reliable wireless connections around the home.

Now, if you'll excuse us, we're going to work out how many cars we can download per second on a 300Mbps connection.

Whats TalkTalk saying?

I currently have Sky broadband but Talktalk's TV, broadband and phone looks interesting as I am after a PVR and this fits the bill, only £5 extra a month compare to what I am paying now.

Never had a problem with them

I am on fibre and get max speeds
