"it's rude to ask a woman her age"?never understood this line. how the hell can it be rude to ask someone I'm interested in a basic piece of information like their age? anyone make sense of it?as far as I know, only women ashamed of their age (therefore too old/young) say it anyway, but it's still annoying.

SNAKESS BRUV IMA f*ck*ng BATTER THIS GUYThis is the storyim at work on my 7-7 shift.Doing my job correctly. There's a group of people drinking on the field below the building and had a little fire going, fires are not permitted or whatever so ive gone over and told them to just put it out and they can keep theyre party running. They said thanks for not shifting them onwards and offered me a drink. REALLY i shouldnt be drinking on the job but i thought f*ck it lemme have a few. I had like 2 cups of wrey and nephews but i still was doing my job patrollin and doing check calls and what not. I started to feel a bit tipsy because i hadnt eaten so i went up and got me some food *not to the control room but elsewhere* after i ate my food i patrolled as usual, wasnt tipsy anymore, felt fine. A hour or so later i ended up back down where they was drinking. they was still there and what not so i had a few shots of sambucca or whatever... just enjoying myself like....everybody else was inside because there was an event and they had their own event security so it basically left me with nothing much to do so i thought why not.ANYWAY, theyre finished and leaving so ive walked them back up to the car park so they can all get a cab home *majority was females, older group*. They got in the cab safely and then i carried on patrolling *this was at like 2amish*Finished work at 7am, not drunk infront of any workers or drunk in general after i had the food. Did everything i should of worked wise left at 7am and everything was finewoke up...got a phone call at 5:30 this afternoon... agency boss called me and said they dont want me in today because somebody has told the manager i was drinking....so i said is it just for today or thats it, she recalled them and they said im fired completely.Now.....fair enough, i shouldnt of had a few drinks on the job, my bad. ...BUT as i said... iwas not drunk OR incapable of doing my work.My issue is somebody, meaning a Co-Worker has snitched on me too the bosses and cost me at least £600+ worth of shifts i still had left with this company. Whoever said it did NOT need to even say anything because really it was irrelevant. When people fall asleep which isnt really allowed and do sh*t, i llowed them and covered for them. I guess I should of been less naive to know one of these guys would snake me like that but im just pissed at myself. If i didn't tell any of the coworkers *who i thought were ok* about the few drinks, i would be at work right now getting more money. Instead someones decided to put me back on the unemployment line and leave my pocket empty *which im not going to lie....if i found out who it is im going to f*ck them up completely*

Head up though brah, learn from experience, been in the exact same spot in the past myself.
yeah, definitely my naivety got the better of me... need to bring the usual ruthlessness into the work place as well.Luckily the supervisor said at the job place said he didnt really need to know but coz he did he had no choice but if i want a reference he will still do that and not even mention the dismissal seeing as i was only 2 weeks away from the end of my contract.

its a lesson learntthese people aint ur friends, when its money its dog eat dog out herenot once have I hang out with anyone at work, even at lunch, they all go shop together etc, I put my headphones on n go a separate way, see them out n pretend I didnt even see them, just listen to my music (I dnt notice stuff anyways, so they buy it).moral of the story, you dont need to be friends with them, ur there to pay ur bills, u dnt need to turn into a snake, just dont involve urself in bullshit, n if u do something, dnt think theyll remember that one time u threw them out of the way of an oncoming bus or some shitgotta be a different person for different scenarios, be nice n normal, just not overly friendly, these guys all have each other on facebook and sh*t

I'm not a 100% sure, but I don't think they can just fire you without any evidence, even if a colleague reported you.Following protocol, they would still have to take statements from the "witness" and you.If you're part of a union you should contact then to see what they can do, bcos I'm sure they would have to call you into meeting to officially get rid of you.But then again, I'm not sure how contracted work works, and how far you want to take this, I guess.

swear agency workers can just et dropped like that?
Don't know, but when you sign a contract you have certain rights, unless they actually state it's their discretion.HR don't necessarily have to mention those rights, that's why it's worth joining a union, they make a difference to a lot of cases.HR is a legal minefield.

pissed. if it was a co-worker they prob snapping up all ur shifts as over time now. and if it was one they prob was jelous they didnt get to do it or some sh*t. but like mike said, these days you cant give anyone any reason for them to have somthing on you, cos people will use it now. feel like they doing good deeds or some sh*t. lucky you was towards the end of the placment and wasnt your full time job or would feel even more pissed.will the agency still find you work or are they pissed at you too?

agency boss said to me... them lot can be snakey.. so i think shes kl with me tbh.... even the boss was like "if i wasnt told then i would of jsut turned a blind eye to it" but because "someone from the public" complained, they had to do it.
