He'd have to up his mic skills to touch The Rock in them days mate, but he could defo hold his own in that era.
Pro Wrestling (WWE, AEW, NJPW, ROH, RevPro, Impact, MLW, WOS)
cena would of been a monster in the attitude era
same level as rock at least
because like the rock he would of been turned heel/face depending on what the fans want.... cos austin is there as super merchandise face
cm punk would of took hhh spot... much better at politics and a womaniser, no doubt steph would be his....
but its all ifs and buts
Punk would of never carried the attitude era like Austin did from 98-99
And when HHH/Rock carried it from 2000-2001
Punk is sick on the mic but he aint on the same levels as Rock
Cena would of flopped in the attitude era because you have to remember nobody cared about PG and. sh*t
Cena would of got bullied like he did post Attitude era
You mans got a short memory or something?
I am the only one who remembers Brock bullying Cena week in and week out?
Punk to do the things Hunter did at the peak of his heel turn are you nuts?
Punk couldn't lead a locker room he struggled with that Right Edge Society group
IMO Punk is the best right now but he wouldn't be on the same levels as Angle
People forget how sick Angle was
you do know wrestling is scripted and not real right ?
this is what punk and cena are doing in a pg era with linda running for senate
imagine them with the filter off
let me just remind you

Like I said Punk would of done well in the Attitude Era
Cena would of flopped like proven before the PG era
Cena can't wrestle/rubbish at selling moves/awful heel
That's why Goldberg really didn't work in WWF because you need to be very good on the mic/know how to sell moves/importantly know how to play a heel and a face
To say Cena can't wrestle is bullshit every big match he delivers.
How old are you?

Problem is there's only so far they can push these guys until the inevitable happens and they have to put over someone that Vince wants to push. Seen it happen too many times. Big E looked strong in

O Fenomeno
Over rated?
Don't be silly
Storylines were so unpredictable
How many times has Cena held the belt in the last two years?
A lot of these guys would of been lucky to appear on Heat/Superstars etc etc

CENA HELD THE BELT TWICE (3 IF YOU COUNT WHEN THERE WAS 2 BELTS) OVER THE LAST 2 YEARS.
FOR ME THE BEST PERIOD IN WWE WAS ACTUALLY AFTER THE ATTITUDE ERA AND ALL THE INVASION BULLSHIT.
THE ROSTER WAS STACKED. THE WRESTLING WAS 10X BETTER THAN THE ATTITUDE ERA.

He's talking about when the NWO came to the WWE

Punk would easily fit into any era as a top heel or face. More so a heel,
In terms of wrestling and promos he's on par or better than most of the wrestlers from the attitude era

The one thing I will say about the past eras is that the secondary titles held more importance
That's something they need to work on and there has been signs of that e.g. bringing back the white IC belt, taking the us title from Santino, HHH focusing more on the tag team division by creating more teams and giving the Kane and Bryan the belts etc.

O Fenomeno
Punk would fit into the Attitude Era
But there is no way he is touching the top echelons(Rock/Austin/HHH/Angle)
As for Top face? Ahead of Rock/Austin? Be real
As for Top heel? Ahead of Helmsley?
Nobody can touch HHH as a top heel

PUNK IS EASILY A BETTER HEEL THAN HHH.

2 guys keep pushing Punk and he turns around and hits the wrong person

He's right. Punk is sick and the best thing in WWE for 10 years, but looking at the title reigns in the Attitude era, who is Punk above?
In the Attitude era the only proper reigns were Austin, Rock, Triple H and Angle.
Austin/Rock are another level and few match them. He'd have been battling with HHH and Angle as top heel, HHH was never not gonna get to the top.
He'd probably never have been elite level between 1998-2001. Neither would Cena though.
Would have easily made it after Austin and Rock were gone though. He's on a par atleast with Jericho, Eddie, Benoit etc IMO.

Co-sign making the IC belt/tag team belt important again. Loved the tag team era when it was Edge and Christian/Hardy's/Dudley's/APA and so on. Looking good now. I wanna see Prime Time Players get a run with the belts, not feeling this Team Hell No bollocks.
