Giovani dos Santos: Mexico international is keen to move on from Tottenham

Giovani dos Santos' agent Vicente Montes has claimed the Mexico international is being 'held hostage' by Tottenham.

The 23-year-old forward has never been able to make an impact at White Hart Lane following his £4.7million arrival from Barcelonaspacer.gif in 2008.

Dos Santos has spent spells out on loan with Ipswich, Galatasaray and Racing Santander and is keen to leave the North London club on a permanent deal.

Montes claims his client is wanted by a number of clubs in Spain and Italy, but feels the tough negotiating stance taken by Spurs chairman Daniel Levyspacer.gif is putting off potential suitors.

"As yet, no concrete offer has arrived. Giovani still has one year left on his contract with Tottenham and the market is currently in a very difficult time," he told calciomercato.it.

These stories defo do Tottenham/Levy no favours... Lol.

why. thats decent business if true. 33m in for modric, pay 15m for dembele and get some change. team arguably isnt weakened too much and theres still room to go and buy something else if necessary.

tbh when we accepted a 13m bid from udinese for him last year but he REFUSED to go he cant really talk about being held hostage.

in 2 successive seasons You have sold Your CLUB CAPTAIN alongside a key member of the first team (Fabregas/Nasri) (Van Persie/Song) against Your will because the players wanted to leave and in 2 cases held the club to ransom, after the club carelessly let the contracts run into the last year

and You criticise a club who don't get blackmailed, and who make sure they either get the right money or their player stays? You've got it twisted, very very twisted.

1 club says "this is our price, take or leave". the other says "the player is going, let's get what we can for him". who's in the stronger position and looks like they are in control of their players?

guy's so used to players being bigger than the team he's starting to think it's right

Remind me where or when I said Arsenal was the model to hold up?!

pretty sure that's how it works. You criticise something about another club, means Your saying Your preferred club is better in this area? no?

/

taking Your own club out of it, You have attacked Spurs' handling of their players

what alternative do You suggest?

the Modric fee wasn't agreed, he has nothing to prove by going on loan, so he stayed until a fee was agreed.

the GDS fee wasn't agreed with a club he wanted to go to, he had things to prove going on loan, he went on loan, and is now at Tottenham until a suitable transfer can be agreed.

How Spurs handle players is up to them, I couldn't give a f*ck tbh, their Spurs FFS.

However agents talk, Spurs are not the elite, they are a stepping stone club... My point was more to do with agents thinking well they dont pay great, they don't play CL, they don't win sh*t, they tie you to long contracts and make life hard when you wanna get out, why the f*ck do I want my clients there...

Now you might argue thats a good thing for Tottenham, morally for them yeah it is they have a backbone unlike Arsenal, but football isn't about morals.

Not even gonna get my hopes up about any 'Dembele to United' talk because the comedown from thinking it will happen to seeing him join another club and hearing Fergie brush it off and say "Fletcher is like a new signing" will be a bit too much for me to deal with tbh

I don't think there's been anything remotely credible, unless I've missed something.

He's quite clearly signing for Spurs.
