Question Time - BBC1 10.35pm - Russell Brand vs Nigel Farage
The thing with brand is he rants without providing many facts. He maybe right about bankers but his points come like a broken record about fat cats in the city. He needs to start emphasising hard facts then his points would stand up. It was so easy for farage to palm off his ranting with a little sarcastic joke about his banker mates.

Whether you like brand or not, what are peoples opinions on his point?
Which is basically: Corrupt bankers and multinational companies effectively stealing money from the uk, then all the blame being shifted on immigration and or other much less heavy factors.
You cant really argue with the seriousness of this point can you? Why is it being ignored so much by everyone?

because he's not being real, he's the equivalent of one of these Occupy campaigners who are complaining about issues but aren't posing solutions

this is the crox of it. that is the basis of uk government blame it on a lesser important issue when the elephant in the room doesnt get addressed... because politicians are backing them

Cant believe people still buy the narrative that immigration is destroying the country even though the richest brits bankers, politicians, bishops, wizards have gained the most from the financial collapse.
Them hard math problems there.
“So long as they (the Proles) continued to work and breed, their other activities were without importance. Left to themselves, like cattle turned loose upon the plains of Argentina, they had reverted to a style of life that appeared to be natural to them, a sort of ancestral pattern...Heavy physical work, the care of home and children, petty quarrels with neighbors, films, football, beer and above all, gambling filled up the horizon of their minds. To keep them in control was not difficult.”

John Doe coming in with that real contribution to the discussion.
Immigration shouldn't be a main issue, but its easier for these people who've seen more immigrants come in as their lives get worse associate the two than to understand about how banks have destroyed the economy.

In what way is he not being real?
Also, i would say the solution to multinationals not paying tax is relatively self explanatory (obviously i dont know the legal loopholes)

Agreed. No doubt about it.
But as far as i can tell, all brand is trying to do is tell these people that although its easier to buy the immigration nonsense, thats not the real issue.
I dont really like or dislike brand but I dont think hes really said anything wrong/stupid
