you need very specific skill-set in each position in the backline, otherwise none of it works and it's all seemingly based around utilising Terry & Ivanovic (played all 38 games last season)

 

it's why he wasn't able to rest players

 

and it's why Terry got hauled off at HT when Mourinho changed system against City

 

but, results might finally be forcing Mourinho's hand - it's all coming to an end
