It was one of them ones where everyone in the world but the manager got it before the game even started. Soon as I heard the starting 11 I thought nice, Kagawa behind Welbs and Januzaj out left. Then when I seen the formation I was scratching my head thinking WTF is this guy doing.

Januzaj was the better player in that match so it's not surprising he's getting the limelight again. Kags did a few things wrong, that poor pass he put in when he took too long in the box and the goal opportunity he flunked spring to mind. Doesn't look like a guy playing with much confidence right now but that ain't surprising.

nah mate kagawa in the second half was a masterclass in how to play the number 10 role

everyone especially neville can fuck off with 'if you want to play as a 10 in this league you need to score at least 10 and assist at least 10 goals"

fuck off just fuck off

Manchester United striker Danny Welbeck has heaped praise on Shinji Kagawa for his second-half performance in the win over Swansea yesterday.

The Red Devils bounced back from three consecutive defeats to pick up a morale-boosting 2-0 success over Michael Laudrup's side, courtesy of goals from Welbeck and Antonio Valencia.

Both strikes came after the break at Old Trafford, following a tactical reshuffle by David Moyes, which saw Kagawa move into a central position from wide left, swapping roles with Adnan Januaj.

And Welbeck hailed the Japanese playmaker's performance, after struggling to impress since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund over 18 months ago.

The England international told MUTV: "I thought Shinji was the difference in the second half.

"Once we moved him to the middle he looked like he was at home and he really switched it on for us. He made a massive difference."

Doesn't change anything in my comment though does it. I watched the game and I'm aware he played far better when switched to the middle which is where he should of started, was he better than Januzaj in that game? No not for me or the 71% of United Fans who chose him as MOTM.

On paper and with the right tactics this squad should at least be beating West Brom, Cardiff, Newcastle and Southampton. That's 10pts dropped and we're currently 10pts behind the current leaders City, at just over the halfway stage of the season. A better manager would've dropped less points against the big teams by following basic common sense like for example playing the same number of midfielders as the opposition.

Anyway to answer the question top 3 which isn't unrealistic when you look at my previous comment.

I hear that.

Everything being equal, I.e tactical astuteness, everyone fit and in form.

Who would rate our squad or first 11 as being better than Liverpool or Spurs? (I leave out Chelsea, City and Arsenal coz they wouldn't look twice at swapping squads)

I ask this coz I'm not sure they'd be in a rush to take many of our players either but would probably take more than the other 3.

Would this be easier if we tried to match each team up man for man based on the squad lists?

I'm genuinely interested to hear people's opinions on the team when put up against the competition.

3rd is a minimum with that squad

But the defence is lacking

Almost 30m for jones+smalling ffs

Thats the interesting thing though as I think a decent arguement could be made to say the defence and goalkeeper are the strongest regions of the squad.

Youthful with good potential. Not yet the finished article, but with a fit Vidic and in form Evans in the middle.

This is the alarming thing about the squad, over the past few weeks on here we've seen people saying we need a CB, LB, CM and Wingers. The Rooney put brigade might also say he should be sold and replaced. RVP is now the wrong side of 30.....

The problem is the team won the league and more troubling the club is budgeted for 3rd or higher...

Arsenal don't budget for 3rd or higher... When I heard that I was like damn Moyes, all the reasonable arguments kind of fall out.

The budget for 3rd is an ideal thing, however with the money the club will still make it is sustainable for a couple seasons to fall below this.

If they get itchy feet I envisage the £80 million cash reserves to be utilised before and Managerial changes.

Interestingly the recently sacked the Buccaneers head coach.

After the intrigueingly mysterious criteria used to appoint Moyes I still have reservations about the ability if those in power to choose an adequate and fitting replacement.

Why do you keep doing all these funny formations that are not 442/4411/451 bane ?

Imo Moyes will try do over next couple seasons

GK: Will keep de gea and let go of 1 of Amos/lindegaard and possibly bring in another keeper

RB: Keep rafael and have smalling and valencia as back up

CB: keep smalling, evans and Jones let go of vidic and Rio and bring in a 1st choice center back and play him with evans and Jones when Jones isn't in midfield

LB: bring in a new 1st choice left back, let go of 2 possibly all 3 of Fabio/burner/evra depending on interest.

DM: keep fletcher to use along with Jones

CM: keep carrick as 1st choice and cleverly and fellaini as back up/rotation depending if he is using a DM or not, maybe bring a marquee player if the can which could see fellaini gone or less playing time for fletcher and carick used as DM... Anderson will be sold.

RW: Valencia kept and first choice with januzaj back up and maybe a reserve player given a chance here too lingard? Nani and zaha gone

LW: Januzaj first choice and kagawa back up, think he might keep young for his versatility and rotation.

AM: Rooney first choice with januzaj and kagawa back up... Giggs has to retire surely ??

CF: Rooney first choice, with Rvp... Welbz back up fuck forgot about welbz... Young might be sold too now as welbz can play wing... Hernandez sold... Think he might try a marquee signing here too to relive the pressure... Which could unbalance his whole shit

Imo that what he will try do... Don't agree but it could work

I'd agree wholeheartedly with this apart from the Rooney thing, like him or not and I don't particularly, he's a marquee player and will help us attract top players.

You've outlined 4/5 new players with a striker coming in a year or two.

How much do you reckon should be put aside to find this baring in mind today's market and the "Manchester United tax" are there any realistic targets that should be prioritised?
