Day off today, so I'm gonna spend it milling around wating for the derby.

I've already decorated my mums room with United Paraphanalia (probably never see any of it again when she gets home,)

So predictions on teams and scores are the next on my list,

Reckon we could go with

DDG

Rafael

Camel-Face

Evans

Evra

Carrick

Jones. Think he'll go for the extra cover and mobility in the middle. 2 man midfield would get raped against City.

Scholes

Valencia

Nani

Rooney.

We've got to score first tonight, 2-2

I agree with this. Call me a madman but I think the stage is set for a late winner by someone controversial. Either balo/tevez. Or welbs/ Michael owen.

I'm a big Rafael fan but after the Everton game I wanna see Smalling start at right back tonight. Rafael can come back into the side vs, Swansea

/

And Fergie has to go with a 3 man midfield cause Rooney can't be trusted to drop deep and act as an extra mid(see United/Barca CL final '11)

whether Jones should or shouldn't be anywhere near our starting 11 is irelevant, we need 3 in the middle and he fits the bill,

it's either him or Giggs, or possibly Park for one last hurrah (possibly) or i guess he could put Rooney back there,

Guess Cleverly could feature, Or is he injured again?

if i had to make the decision i'd also put Smalling in ahead of Rafael,

This here is the type of game that i'm praying to hear before kick off that just like the FA cup game, there's a shock inclusion in the United 11,

"Darren Fletcher has trained for the past month and a half and is back to relative fitness and is starting tonight, along with Carrick and Scholes"

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has revealed he plans to loan out a number of his young players next season.

Ferguson is keen to continue his policy of farming out his best young talent on loan to gain some valuable first-team experience.

The likes of Will and Michael Keane and Davide Petrucci, who are regulars in the reserves, are expected to go out on loan after attracting interest from clubs this season.

"There will be a few [going out on loan]," Ferguson told Inside United. "We'll always do that. We've had eight or nine out this season, including Robbie Brady, Scott Wootton, Joshua King and John Cofie. I went to see Oliver Norwood at Coventry recently and he was a star for them.

"Some of them will definitely go out again next season: potentially the two Keane brothers, Tom Thorpe, Davide Petrucci, Zeki Fryers and Matty James, who was out for a year-and-a-half through injury but is back now and playing well for the reserves. Marnick Vermijl will probably stay here for another year yet."

Ferguson is happy with the talent coming through the ranks at Old Trafford and feels the future is bright.

"We have some terrific young players here: [Jesse] Lingard, [Larnell] Cole, the two Keanes, Petrucci, Fryers, Vermijl, [Ryan] Tunnicliffe, Thorpe," added Ferguson.

What's the point?

When these kids are ready SAF will still find some excuse not play them.

Still pisses me off that he had the nerve to play Park and Fabio in midfield against Wolves at home in the Carling Cup when we had the likes of Petrucci and Pogba twiddling their thumbs

SAF doesn't rate these kids, it's pretty obvious.

/

Although I really want to see Matty James, Petrucci, Fryers and the Keane brothers succeed

Read an article the other day on Oliver Norwood too, even though he just signed a 1 year extension at United he made it very clear he wants to play first team football first and foremost and by the sounds of it he's doing really well at Coventry

It's a good thing really, means these kids have ambition and don't think too highly of themselves ala Darron Gibson who seemed to hang round for years even though it was pretty evident he was never going to be good enough - I seem to remember him poo poo'ing the idea of going to Birmingham because it was "a step down" :/ felt like telling him it's only a step down when youre a regular first team player you twat!!!!

Rant over.

At other times in his reign I'd be inclined to agree 100%

As since the 50's the club has been about coupling talented youth with more established players, joined with a few big signings now and then,

However in the last few years things have changed financially transfer policy wise and financial doping of the game has had an inevitable effect on the Youth in the game, (not the youths fault tbh,)

So I understand his reticent attitude to blooding youth, especially in this 11.

It could be argued that that should add to the reason for playing them, however it could also be argued that this us the worst time.

Regardless of all that, in the last 3 years, as stupid as this sounds, we have over achieved,

Never been a fan of Fergie as a person, but have always had nothing but respect for him as a manager, in the last 3 years he has doubled my respect for him as I have no idea how we are where we are in the league right now, its down to him.

In short his performance in the last few years gives him a Bly and makes me believe that he should be trusted in what he chooses.

Quite frankly Fergie knows best,

(never thought I'd be typing something like that post 2005, but there it is)

Not even sure it all made sense.

Yeah I agree with that

I've always said us doing soo well in recent years says more about SAF as a manager than it does about the strength or lack of our current squad

It's not beyond belief to say without SAF we'd probably be finishing 4th or worse this season

He seems to be able to squeeze out the very best out of bang average players and he has to be comended for it, especially when you look at our trophy cabient from the last few years

BUT I can't help but wonder what it would be like when he's no longer there and paying over the odds for Prem players he was hesitant on making a move for first

Plus I want us to be Champions of Europe again, if I'm honest I could care less about the league, the CL is where it's at for the ELITE - and the only way we're winning that again is by buying and developing QUALITY players that can walk in and command a place in the starting 11

None of these experiments ala Bebe or Obertan but proper players that other TOP european sides would have in their teams

The league is our bread and Butter. Always has been always will be.

The Champions league is amazing to win and a great bonus,

But forever and always European dominance should only come after or during a season of domestic dominance.

Otherwise we're just a glorified cup team.

Hey big spenders: Fergie blames City for creating 'insane' transfer market

Luka Modric, Gylfi Sigurdsson and Eden Hazard are all on United's radar for next season

Sir Alex Ferguson has cranked up the title climax by blaming rivals City for the “insane” transfer market.

The Manchester United manager is already planning his response to City’s emergence as a major force in the game by recruiting two or three players in the summer.

But he insists that United cannot compete with their neighbour’s financial muscle and sees no end to the unequal contest.

Ferguson, virtually resigned to losing his Premier League crown to Roberto Mancini’s side, said: “It’s been an insane transfer market for a long time and I think clubs like City create that.

“They can buy all the players and put a marker on all the players and that makes it difficult for clubs then to be reasonable. There’s no chance of that calming down and I don’t see how the financial fair play can work. No-one can match City’s financial power – no-one. We have to accept that, so we do it a different way. We’ll try to look at young players with the potential to develop in the club, which we’re good at, so we’ll stay with that.”

United want to strengthen in midfield, where Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs are inevitably running out of steam. Tottenham’s Luka Modric, Swansea’s on-loan Gylfi Sigurdsson and Lille’s Eden Hazard are all on Fergie’s radar.

But City have been tracking Hazard too and United know from the painful experience of losing out on Samir Nasri last summer that the Eastland coffers can swing almost any deal.

United may also need to replace striker Dimitar Berbatov, although Ferguson maintains the Bulgarian, along with Scholes, could still be in his squad next season.

“We’ll assess where we are going in terms of players,” Ferguson said. “We’ll no doubt be bringing players in. Maybe two or three, who knows? It depends on the type of market we’re dealing with and player availability. But Scholes and Giggs are coming to the end so it’s a fact that we have to guard against that. It’s difficult to think you can get a Giggs or Scholes falling off trees.

“Tom Cleverley has got fantastic potential and Michael Carrick has still got years left in him. But we’ll probably add someone to the squad.

“There’s nothing settled for Berbatov.

“We’re waiting for someone to make an offer. He won’t go for nothing.”

With the benefit of hindsight, Ferguson is beginning to think United let Cristiano Ronaldo go on the cheap to Real Madrid – even at a world record fee of £80m. The Scot said: “You can only assess value on success. Like Real Madrid with Ronaldo. They’ll be saying ‘we’d have paid £160m for him with all he’s done’. At more than a goal a game he’s been a fantastic buy for them. At the time we thought £80m was not bad. Now I’m saying to myself it should have been a lot more.”

United go into today’s home match against Swansea hoping Newcastle will have denied City victory at St James’ Park to give the title race another twist.

Ferguson said: “It looks like we’re going to lose the League on goal difference and you look at the three goals we lost to City in the last three minutes at Old Trafford.

“Then that crazy, absolutely stupid game against Everton when we threw it away. You can analyse where you think you lost it or won it, but it could come down to goal difference and Gary Neville may be right when he says that’s the worst nightmare.”

Don't blame the lad and judging by what SAF says we'll be in for another LONG summer of "having a look" and "no value"

Guard against Scholes & Giggs you know? The fucking cheek, as if to say they've suddenly gone into their mid 30's smh
