4.5 million, shambles.

Chasing Buffon and De Gea, then you pay "over the odds" for this guy, seems strange.

Buffon is chronically injured. De Gea is Spanish.

Lol at buying Hulk, if his name wasn't Hulk he wouldn't be worth remembering :/

even if we were gonna turn a blind eye to Buffon's injuries, he's also 32 now,

yes Goalkeepers can go on for longer than outfield players, before anyone jumps down my throat, but i dont see us buying anyone of that age range for the foreseeable

It's true, we obv have an eye on the long term, hence Lindegaard.

+ I dunno I'd say calling Hulk VERY good would be overrating him a little tbh..

Happy birthday Giggsy! Twenty seven today.

tbh Hulk will be too expensive for us. Would start every game though easy.

Reminds me of Rivaldo so much. Sick player.

HAHAHA and this guy was chatting sh*t to me in the other thread.

its a cup game, any win will do, extra-time, pens, a last minute own-goal. especially given that we'll be playing a under-strengthed side,

saying that though,

a team off

PIG/Amos

O'shea

Smalling

Evans

Fabio

Obertan

Carrick

Anderson yes i'd go with those two in the middle again, capitilising on thier good performance (Anderson's fitness permitting

Bebe/Park

Hernandez gotta rest on the weekend and should be fresh

Macheda His competition to shine really

should be good enough to get the job done,

i always find it kind off ironic that the big clubs get slated for not taking the cup seriously but only we win them,

I'm expecting both us and Arsenal to get to the semi's tonight, even though neither of us give a sh*t about the trophy

remember guys, this is someone who albeit for the very most part a reliable member of the squad, isn't a first teamer,

but happens to be on 80 grand a week, and one of our highest earners,

if the right moves are made in Jan and at the end of the season, Rooneys saga may be the best thing to happen to the club in a long while

IAN Holloway says Manchester United's visit to Bloomfield Road on Saturday is the highlight of his management career.

The Seasiders boss is a huge admirer of Sir Alex Ferguson, who he calls "a living legend".

He also has the utmost respect for Wayne Rooney, Ryan Giggs and Paul Scholes, and admits he can't wait to welcome them to Blackpool for Saturday's first meeting between the clubs in 36 years.

Excitement is growing throughout the town ahead of the Reds' visit, with the teatime fixture a complete sell-out and live on ESPN.

United may have taken a Carling Cup hammering at West Ham, but they remain the only unbeaten club in the Premier League and top the table by two points.

But Holloway will implore his team to ignore reputations and go for victory. And he admits he will have to pinch himself when he looks towards the opposite dugout and sees Ferguson.

"Sir Alex is a living legend. What he has done in the game is just unreal," Holloway said. "It will be an honour to welcome him to Blackpool because he is the top of the tree when it comes to British managers.

"The great thing about him is that if he misses your call he will ring you back within 10 minutes. How good is that?

"I admire a lot of clubs but Manchester United have a certain aura and Sir Alex certainly has.

"He gets under people's skin as well because he actually says what he feels and you need that passion. Bill Shankly had the same passion and he started all that great success at Liverpool.

"Sir Alex has matched that fantastic record of Liverpool's (18 League titles). One more and he will have beaten it in his own lifetime, which is just unbelievable.

"Welcoming Sir Alex will be great and probably the highlight of my managerial career so far because it's a league game, not a one-off cup match, and we're playing mighty Manchester United.

"It is going to be a fantastic day for the club and one for the supporters to remember."

:/

Blackpool rolling over for man united at the weekend then

O'shea is a legend

he f*cked up a shot, funny, but thats about it

Tbh, not sure if your comment was tounge in cheek or not, so i'll reply to it as if it were a serious one.

Each to their own, but personally i'm not onto this whole flex of the over use of labelling players as Legends. It cheapens the whole thing.

This has nothing to do with the shot or performance in the week, as as i've stated already in the thread, O'shea is a reliable, versatile and very usefull member of the squad.

But Legend. No he aint.

He's a legend in the same way David May is.
