Avatar press screenings and the premiere were today and the word is good according to those critics who have posted quick tweets.

@petershall: "The AVATAR buzz is an understatement. That movie was unbelievable."
@dmann11: "Holy effing crap!!! Avatar was FREAKING AWESOME KICK ASS SWEET!!!!!"
@TheGate: "For the record 'Avatar' was worth the $400 million, and no it is not even remotely "vomit inducing".
@gholson: "Specacular. A visual feast and the new benchmark in cinematic world building."
@chasewhale: "Just finished AVATAR. Special effects were top notch. The movie ran a little long for my likings but I liked it!"
@comingsoonnet" "Okay, about Avatar?.... WOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOWOW! Unbelievable... amazing."
@MikePereira21: Was blown away by Avatar! For 150 minutes, I was a kid again. Thank you James Cameron! BTW, the groundbreaking 3D was mindblowing."

Not even surprised by the mixed reviews of Avatar, with that kind of budget people will be expecting something really ground breaking with a A star studded cast and compelling story but I guess there isn't much of that. Some have gone to the point of saying it looks like an expensive video game. The Guardian review well kind of a reviewhttp://www.guardian.co.uk/film/2009/dec/10/james-cameron-avatar-preview

There could never be a trailer anytime soon for that

December 8, 2009Peter Jackson has revealed to Heat Vision that casting for The Hobbit starts this week, with wide auditions expected for each part except Gandalf, who will be played again by Ian McKellen."We're auditioning for every role," Jackson said. "Apart from Ian McKellen, who we obviously want to return as Gandalf, we are not really offering any roles to anybody until we've done a casting sweep."He added that they are not necessarily looking for big stars. "(These movies) have never been a star-driven vehicle. The star is (author J.R.R.) Tolkien and the world he created. We are not under any pressure. We want to find the right people. Casting someone to portray a hobbit is not as easy as you might imagine. They have to have a particular type of physical appearance and a sensibility. And the same with an elf or a dwarf. These are fantastical characters, but you've got to find the right people to play them, the right humans to translate these characters."Jackson also debunked the rumor that production was delayed, saying the they were always planning to start shooting around April or May of 2010.
expected release 2011
