What are the valid reasons for locking the Man United topic?Everyone's been screaming they want to talk, upload and watch videos of the reserves and other non thread worthy stuff so why not just stick in one topic :D Is it because of the topic starter?
Swear the guy who locked it is a utd supporter.

http://liverpoolfc.co.za/eve/forums/a/tpc/...643/m/472106714Contrary to all the rubbish printed by the British press regarding a 20 million pound deal for Alberto Aquilani, Roma have themselves revealed the true extent of the payment structure for the Italian (both to the stock exchange as well as their own official site). The 20 million EURO transfer fee is broken up into the following:- 4 cash instalments of - - 5 million EURO upfront- - 3 million EURO by 4th January 2010- - 7 million EURO by June 30th 2010- - 5 million EURO by June 30th 2011.Further Add ons include:- 300,000 EURO for every year Liverpool qualify for the Champions League from 2010/11 to 2014/15- 250,000 EURO everytime the player reaches 35 appearancs, 70 appearances, 105 appeances and then 140 appearances.- 1 million EURO the first time Liverpool either wins the Premier League or Champions League by 30 June 2014.- 5% of any future transfer fee will be paid to Roma.Details can be found here (for those fluent in Italian) - http://www.asroma.it/UserFiles/988.pdfSo next time you read any article and it says we paid 20 million Pounds or any other funny amount, reference this article! That being said, if we've only paid 5 million EURO for Aquilani, and got 30 million POUNDS for the Alonso deal right away....is there more money to burn or is it going to our esteemed American owners to re-finance their deal?

with tuncay coming i can see us being a serious team this season.Delph looks f*ck*ng sick, petrov is quality, milner ,young, downing & albrighton on the wings, carew & heskey's power and gabby's pace,Fonz rawness, plus we have reo coker & sidwell as back up wid back up midfielders

I agree it would be a good addition - our forward line would be sick in terms of depth and variety but we still need a top class centre mid and a pair of decent centre halves before anything though.Tuncay or not this squad would do well to finish 8th with our current defensive options.edit: my main worry is MON said he expects 5 the other weekBeye, Delph and now potentially Tuncay are signing. Which leaves 2 more. We need two centre halves as well as a CM

Scousers>>>>>First they try and convinve themselves they only paid 10m for Glen Johnson. Now theyre tryna convince themselves theyve paid £5m for Aquilani:lol:Yet they could end up actually paying 22.5m if ive done my maths correct (They wont have to worry about the 1mil for prem or CL winnings) but at the very least they are paying 20m.LOL @ the bit highlight in red.f*ckin retards.

If they sold him tommorow, does that mean they would still have to pay for him plus the percentage of the sell on fee?

BFR reports are saying again Redknapp is gonna launch a 21mill bid for Young again after his 18mill bid was rejected.
And the 21mil bid will be rejectedAlthough it's all just paper talk, we confirmed there have been enquiries for Ash - let alone bids - after the infamous spurs 'itk's reported you'd bid.Ashley on Villa:
"It does not enter my head whether Barcelona or Real Madrid are watching me or not""It is flattering to be linked with such big clubs but I'm a Villa player," said the 24-year-old, who claimed that he has never felt the need to discuss interest from other clubs with O'Neill this summer. "I'm exceedingly happy here. I have two and a half years left on my contract and I'm delighted to be playing for the club. Of course I can [stay for the rest of that contract]. I'm delighted with the way things have gone since I came. The ambition is bigger and bigger."
and again:
"If you look at when I first came I set myself a lot of goals. I've achieved some of them - like getting into the England team, winning Player of the Month awards and being named the PFA Young Player of the Year. "There are still things that I want to achieve here. The club's on a high - on the way up - and hopefully so am I, so I'm happy here." "Fingers crossed I'll be playing tonight - but the gaffer hasn't said anything yet. I might have only just come back for pre-season training but I'm a player who wants to play every game. "But it's up to the gaffer. If he thinks it's too soon and I don't play I'll just have to keep myself fit for the next game."
MON on Ashley's future
"There are loads of teams that would want Ashley Young, top continental sides that would want him, and Ashley Young, with a bit of luck, has a fantastic future ahead of him. But he's absolutely at the right club at this moment. Since he's joined us he's been one of the major reasons we've finished in the position we have done the last couple of seasons. But I couldn't be more strong on this. He's not going anywhere. And the teams that I've noticed that have been linked with him couldn't buy him."If somebody came in with £30m, £40m or £50m? I wouldn't do it. I'm not in overall charge obviously and it would be up to Randy but the last time I spoke to Randy he wasn't entertaining anything at any price.""Sometimes you leave a little caveat in somewhere along the way, where you feel that there is no chance unless someone makes a silly offer – that suggests there is a possibility, but there is not. He won't be going."
And again:
There have been a lot of stories about Ashley - and that's what they are - stories. "The last time I spoke to Ashley and his agent none of this was at the forefront. "I read every single day these articles about different clubs coming in for him, with swap deals mentioned. It's just pure conjecture. "No-one has come in and asked us about Ashley Young and I have got to tell you, if they did they would get short shrift. "I believe he can reach for the stars here. This football club has been fantastic for him because we have given him this platform to display his skills, excite the crowd and play the sort of football that he is doing. "I suppose it's flattering that he's being linked because it shows how far he has come at this club. Saying that, I do get bored with all the stories in reality."
And 'Arry said there's no chance they could sign him yesterday...It's just a nothing, we wanted Bentley/Jenas/Huddlestone, Arry tried his luck with Ash/Carew in a deal. Nothings happening. And signing Downing just fueled more speculation, despite MON and Downing saying he's gonna play on the right and off the front.---------In other news we've pulled out Villa Park as an option for 2012 olympic venuewhich is a strong hint we're gonna go up to 54-58k for then

Turner's soooo sick but Brentford have got 25% sell on so they're gonna hold out for big moneyHe's such a hard bastard, proper lion heart, I can't believe we've not expressed an interest - he'll be in the England squad in the next couple of years if he gets a decent move

Hull City boss Phil Brown admits that he will find it hard to stop Michael Turner from joining Liverpool.Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez has been tracking the impressive central defender since the opening weeks of last season.Turner has impressed hugely since the Tigers' promotion to the top-flight, and he played a huge part in their Premier League survival last term.Benitez, who has money available following the recent sale of Xabi Alonso, is yet to replace Sami Hyypia, who departed the club at the end of last season. Now a move for Turner looks likely, although Brown is doing everything he can to put the Spaniard off."I have spoken to Rafa Benitez about Michael, but his assessment and valuation of the boy is well below ours," he said."I would dearly love to keep Michael here with us, but I know that is going to be difficult."When one of the top clubs in Europe come calling, a young man's head can be turned."http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_5482782,00.html
