Fabregas can be replaced, it just won't be a direct replacement.
so if the team loosly based around him its not a good replacement isit pointless really, nasri can go ive had enough!!
He can be replaced in the sense that it doesn't have to be a playmaker but say, have the money spent on to sick defenders & build a much stronger backline, or buying a quality striker. His replacement doesn't have to be like for like.Nasri has made the club look weak, can't REWARD that sort of conduct especially when his actual performances haven't warranted that sort of money, I'm sorry.

We put Nasri on those sort of wages, then other players, Walcott & RVP especially will want big raises, RVP gets a bly though, then there's Wilshere & TV5, so our wage situations continues being an issue that disrupts our transfer activity. Then, there's having another senior player who holds our club at ransom when hasn't performed anywhere near the level to somewhat justifies that. Making our club look weak. He's quality, he is by NO means indispensable. No player is bigger than the club. He can f*ck off.
what you saying is true however the dynamics of the modern game dictate thatYour point would be 100% valid to a mid table team not a team challenging for honours If you want to be a team challenging for the top prize you have to be prepared to spend big to invest in top quality and also to keep your best alsoIMO off the bat we should be paying our top players in line with the market which other top teams are willing to spend. And unfortunately these teams happen to be teams with indispensable cash however its not like we cant afford it in all fairness. But from day we got deadwood players on ridiculous wages it kind of contradicts everything Regardless I wouldnt be making this point if I didnt believe we couldnt compete with the best, we got a strict wage structure fair enough but this seriously needs to be reviewed so that we pay our top PROVEN players in line with the market and not to offer these deadwood/unproven players long term 40k+ wages

Can't believe people are saying f*ck Nasri now. Joke.
How is it a joke?
I genuinely think this may be a crossroads, if Arsenal are willing to pay out the type of wages the best players in the world command, or if they aren't.I think in order to attract the best players you have to have your own house in order. Nasri needs to sign on before anything else happens.

I definitely agree with sentiment that for a team wanting to compete for major honours, we need to pay top players the same sort of wages that other clubs are willing to pay...Thing with Nasri in particular, he hasn't reached THAT level yet. Does he have the potential? Yes. But I don't like the way it's been conducted, that's my beef. Then again, I saw the way Rooney did United so boy...

I'd be more gutted if we sold Fabregas than Nasri. Yes Nasri is a key player and a good one but Fabregas is something else. However if we did end up keeping both :D Contracts need sorting out on many players this year.
Exactly, Nasris acting like a mercenary, would rather somebody who actually likes the club was here than somebody who doesnt seem like he wants to be at AFC anymore

I think what happens with Nasri either way will have bigger implications for the club, the fact City and Liverpool will both be looking to make the top 4, direct rivals can't be seen as a more attractive proposition than Arsenal. If that means (not matching) but being able to give one of the teams big players a hundred grand a week, that perhaps that is what needs to happen.Because a lot of people seem to be fed up with the youth before experience policy at the club, but I tell you, if you want experience, you have to pay for it, you can't have it both ways. The longer this drags on the longer I can see it being an Ashley Cole situation, with Nasri moving to Manchester for an extra 10 grand or so.

I think whatever happens, it's important that Arsenal try to exert as much 'control' over the situation as possible.
I agree.
joke thing is this should have been sorted way before the season finishedwe should never be hearing comments like wenger saying Nasris contract situation will be taken care off when the seasons finished when they were negotiating ages agoControl is one thing we have now lost

Arsenal have reportedly contacted German giants Bayern Munich about the possibility of signing French superstar Frank Ribery who would cost in the region of £22million.According to footybunker.com, sources at both clubs have suggested that the two teams are already in advanced talks after Bayern decided to cash in on the experienced French winger who struggled for much of last season through injury. The Bundesliga side finished a disappointing third in the league with Ribery only able to make 22 league starts, though he did still manage to score seven goals and provide 11 assists. The 28-year-old has suffered with injuries throughout his career and has been consistently plagued with ligament damage in his ankles. Despite this, Ribery has still scored more than 50 goals for Bayern in his four seasons with the club. Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger is a huge admirer of the France international and has been linked with a move for the player for some time. However, Wenger has always been put off by the potential price tag which had been upward of £40m. Now though, Bayern appear to ready to cash in on a player who rarely stays fit for an entire season as they attempt to bring a number of fresh faces to the club. Arsenal are aware that they may need to find a replacement for Samir Nasri who has just one-year left on his current contract and has indicated that he could even leave the club this season. Nasri has been linked with the likes of Manchester United and Manchester City and while Ribery would not be a direct replacement he would provide some much needed attacking threat. Ribery has a wealth of experience at both international level and in the Champions League and would certainly compliment the young Arsenal squad.
Chamberlain wants to move to us also.

Barcelona's Xavi defends Cesc Fabregas commentsBarcelona midfielder Xavi has said he does not want a "war of words" with Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger over the future of Cesc Fabregas.Last week Wenger said the World Cup winner had been "very disrespectful" for suggesting Fabregas was suffering over a proposed move to Camp Nou.But Xavi has defended his comments, saying: "I was only acting in the interest of Cesc and of Barca."Fabregas was at the Barcelona academy before joining Arsenal in 2003.Speaking at Barcelona's training ground, Xavi added: "It seems absurd to me. But that's that and I really don't want to get into a war of words with Wenger. I didn't want to offend anyone."I don't really know the situation but it seems they [Arsenal] are more disposed to sell this year than last year."On Tuesday, Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola said the club would "fight to the end" to sign Fabregas, after they had a bid of around £27m rejected by the Gunners in June.Wenger has been trying to convince his captain to stay in the Premier League and fight for the title they last won in 2004.So far this summer Arsenal have sold Gael Clichy to Manchester City and brought in striker Gervinho from Lille and Charlton Athletic defender Carl Jenkinson.http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/14215342.stm

I'm more than happy for Walcott to leaveHowever I'm reading on Twitter how Cesc isn't going to Cologne on Friday and Matt Law from the Express newspaper is saying that Cesc is refusing to train with team mates (just be pictured with them only). He's also refusing to play in pre-season games, stopped tweeting and ain't dispelling Xavi's commentsWhich makes sense to me as this hamstring injury started about 3 weeks before the end of the season, and he still has it?! Plus he seems the petulant type to do it.

Whatever happens this season regarding transfers, I am just glad Denilson has finally f*cked off. Albeit on a loan deal... if he comes back next season i'll be pissed. Was reading a good article about how internet blogs e.g. arseblog et al, twitter and various other mediums are affecting our transfers. I can't remember a worse summer then this in my years of supporting Arsenal...such is the state of modern football. In other news, we're reportedly after Felipe Melo for 10mill.

Speaking to Globo Esporte, the 28-year-old said: "I was not cut from the Juventus squad. Quite simply, in agreement with the directors, we decided it was inconvenient that I should only play in Serie A, considering my salary and the contract that runs to 2014. "I've received an offer from Europe that will vastly improve my salary. We're finalising the details and over the next few days everything ought to be completed."
