^^^ From time when you know Arsenal fans are upset about a trainwreck like Eboue leaving, you know your club has slowly but surely instilled this loser mentality into our psyche...

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has claimed Cesc Fabregas is their “unique and final objective” - but wants the Arsenal captain to help pay his transfer fee.The Spanish club want Fabregas to waive around £4m to help get the deal done and have also gone to an Asian sponsor to raise money for the transfer fee.Barcelona have fallen well short of Arsenal’s £40m asking price and the sticking point of including youngsters Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin - who both defected from Barca to the Emirates - has proved a major obstacle. But Barcelona are now finally putting together a package which they believe can resolve the transfer saga this week and put Fabregas out of his misery.Fabregas was left out of Arsenal’s squad for this weekend’s Emirates Cup and Gunners boss Arsene Wenger has admitted he has been left unsettled by the transfer tug-of-war.Spain midfielder Fabregas wants to quit Arsenal for Barcelona but Wenger wants to rush through the deal so he can make his own rebuilding plans. That appears to be coming to fruition now even though Barca have struggled to come up with enough cash. But if Fabregas is willing to effectively pay money from his own pocket to get his dream move then Barca are hopeful of getting the deal done.Meanwhile, Arsenal target Juan Mata has rejected a late move from Tottenham to move to the Emirates.Spain winger Mata, who played in Valencia’s friendly with Sporting Lisbon this weekend, wants Valencia to let him go and his father and agent has asked the club president Manuel Llorente to rubber stamp the £17m deal by tomorrow (Tuesday).Read more: http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/transfer-news/Barcelona-want-Cesc-Fabregas-to-help-fund-his-transfer-from-Arsenal-article779820.html#ixzz1Tj9nfTP0 Sign up for MirrorFootball's Morning Spy newsletter Register here

Talk that the Mata deal could be off unless we come up with more money, seems the reports are saying the cheaper clause he had inserted into his contract has expired and now Valencia can hold out for more. Even with people saying its has been agreed so you can never tell what is the truth anymore, the use of Twitter etc have drove me nuts.I dunno just seeing this could be crap and tomorrow its all back on but as the season gets closer and the lack of talk coming out it worries me more and more. I can understand them wanting to keep deals private and not build our hopes up but this also doesn't do us any good. Frustration continues to grow amongst fans and part of it just exploded yesterday in a meaningless friendly.Plus: Three signings this week? I wish.

...seems the reports are saying the cheaper clause he had inserted into his contract has expired and now Valencia can hold out for more...
This is apparently the case. I very much doubt Wenger would have that, knowing him he'd cut his losses. Expect an end to that story this week.
Guillem Balague Mata's clause to sign player cheaper (20-23m euros) finished yesterday. Clubs agreed fee, player happy to go but money didnt arrive...Guillem Balague Spurs tried to get him but he only wanted to go to Arsenal or Barcelona. Without Cesc money, Arsenal didnt want 2 pay.Now he costs 60m eurosGuillem Balague Only a superoffer of 30m euros plus will get him but now the most likely scenario is a new contract with ValenciaGraham Hunter: Via Twitter. Mata: Spurs bid, player not keen. Arsenal did convince him but between AFC and VCF was verbal. Mata pretty down in dumps. May well stay but not finished yet. VCF showed that are open to certain amount, Mata's stance on all this will be vital. Opportunity missed thoughGraham Hunter: Mata: contract crafted to allow him out & VCF had time to replace. Do they have smne in mind? Hve they spent 2 much? Will JM push or accept? Those questions will sort out what happens next. But fact that VCF guaranteed UCL football is an important factor against THFC
So the question here is, IF this is true where has the money gone from previous transfers? Wasn't we told a sum of £50 million is in reserve for transfers? Something is wrong and it is a damn shame.

the whole twitter style Journalism has really f*cked me off this year with regards to the transfers. Too many ITK ass mofos. Everything I have heard/read soo far I have taken with a pinch of salt because it seems like the papers are also feeding off these ITK. We will definitely sign SOMEON But, I doubt its any of the names thrown about.

"Valencia simply rejected their offer," said Mata's father to calciomercato.com. "After some hesitation they answered 'no' to the Gunners' offer."So my son remains a Valencia player, for now. But I don't think it's their last offer."There are several offers for Mata and I think that Arsenal will come forward again. The situation is still evolving."Are Inter Milan one of the interested teams? I know my son holds Milan in high esteem. We'll see if Inter will come forward directly."
