Got marked out and squeezed out of games too much in the #10, and gave the ball way too much when too many man gambled going forward on his passes. Not all his fault cos Walcott, Podolski & Giroud movement is stale and brain not on the same wavelength.

 

Out wide he finds more space to come in and Wilshere didnt get bullied the same way.

They both gave the ball away a hell of a lot, hence why it didnt work, when you got tracker Arteta then left to try and clean up. The difference is when Jack gives it away he would actually run back, hack back, or cos he's English somehow get a foul in his favour. Santi on the other hand like I've said so many times would take it for beach ball, smile, and stroll back.

Wilshere is incapable of playing high up or as a number 10, his best performances have always been deeper, plus he has the engine for it

 

Nobody should be shifting Santi out of the number 10 spot, unless he moves / is moved for tactical reasons to the left to negate being man-marked and still has the freedom to come in wide and not be clustered

 

Cazorla ideally needs a freeish role

 

But that requires a capable destroyer and some discipline and pressing from the wings & upfront
