Fillup Banks
this verse been way overhyped. guess it did what it was meant to GKMC is NEVER a classic in the sense that liquid swords, doggystyle, reasonable doubt, the fix, MBDTF, low end theory etc. it's (very) good but the stand out tracks / complete body of work are nowhere near 'classic' status. it just shows how the levels have dropped i prefered section 80 anyway. GKMC wouldn;'t make my top 30 hiphop albums 3

Drift
You ''anti'' hipster opinion fans are just as bad as the ''hipster'' pro fans lol the joke ting is these mans favourite rappers co sign Kendrick heavy. Yeah they do same way a couple of my favourite rappers cosign popping mollies. Doesnt mean I have to agree with them. We're talking about a recognition of skills not a substance you put in your body, that analogy isn't relevant. When rappers like Nas are saying hip hop needed GKMC and man like Jay Z is jumping on remixes you know he's something special. its relevant to me, one is a force drug craze the other is a force rapper. theyre also both positions from rappers that i rate that i dont agree with. Reasonable Doubt wasn't mentioned a classic till Jay Z started saying it was circa 2001. Doggystyle has always been a classic, but you shouldn't be expecting a east coast biased magazine like Source to be giving it 5 stars anyways. Doggystyle has always been a classic, but you shouldn't be expecting a east coast biased magazine like Source to be giving it 5 stars anyways. My point is the way people refer to certain albums as if they're bonafide classics yet in a lot of cases it seems more a case of people looking back on years gone by with misty eyes because at the time they weren't even rated like that. This notion that nothing coming out can stand up against the music of yesteryear is bullshit, too many people listen to music today with the idea in their head it can't be comparable to anything made by the vets. It reminds me of the theme running throughout Midnight In Paris. / Doggystyle is in my top 10 albums of all time by the way.
