you either replace your DVD drive or your existing HDD
they should be compatible with pretty much any recent laptop
yes, its easy to install (unless you're replacing your DVD drive which may need a special bracket - check ebay)
contemplating getting one got the macbook pro i5 running 16gb but it still feels slow
get one now.
Easy to fit on a MBP?
there's loads of guides dedicated to putting them in MBPs online

Has any1 created a RAM disk, supposed to be faster than an SSD still.
Might create a 2GB disk, will just help me sift through large image files alot quicker I'm hoping.
How do you create one? ^
how large are your image files for you to need a RAM drive?
I need to sift through about 600/700 large pics in a folder at a time.
I wanna be able to just hold the arrow key and it go through without loading or skipping pics, right now that ain't happening so gonna try fling em on a ram drive, should work.

at that volume, it will probably help
or perhaps you can find more adequate software to load the images into memory for you to then flick through? I wouldn't be able to recommend anything in particular though

nah I was reading an article a few months ago saying the price hasn't reduced nearly as much as expected so they're not looking like they'll replace HDDs too soon - but in a year who knows what may happen
i reckon they should just start puttin small 32/64GB ones in all future computers just for the OS/heavy apps, 'cause they're such a benefit

In a year or two I'll buy a lappy with one in, hopefully they'll make laptops with both a ssd & your standard hard drive.
