1 guy i used to work with claims he gets payday loans all the time then changes his bank details and agrees to pay like £10 a month back but never does.. says he gets letters from loans years ago..

says he makes thousands from it and never pays back much

dunno how truthful he was being but he did seem like a wrong'un

Very unlikely you'll get taken to court. They'll chase him while adding on interest then sell the debt.

i dont know why ur saying very unlikely

it's just a long process but they could easily take him court

You're right they could easily but for the amount he owes I doubt it

its all long once it goes to court there is court fees/extra charges that will double what has to be paid back

collect some moneys from family or bredrins and just pay it off one time

in 2010 i paid 6 bills in the end from a fine of 50 quid that kept on going up due to court/bailiff etc. i still regret that shit should have just paid the edge note and reimbursed who ever lent it to me instead i was unemployed and looking for work thinking its cack once i get paid i will just pay them. it ended up being me giving them my whole pay cheque for a 50quid

Yeah I'm agreeing they can. What I'm saying is he should sweat over it and definitely shouldn't hide from it!

THousands of people hide from debt. Its easy, some people indeed make an industry out of it.

All depends on what your long term goals are, you can fuck up your credit and have some short term gains but then when you meet wifey and she wants a yard, nobody wants to do business with you and then you get ridiculous rates from Mortgage lenders

Did you try to contest liability for this fine at any point?

It's true. I had a car on finance but ended up wanting to go to uni so wouldn't have been able to afford the repayments. They took the car back, sold it at auction and told me I owed the difference. This difference being £4000. I cancelled the direct debits, ignored the threatening letters and the debt was passed on to an agency who continued with the threat of court etc. Just the other month I checked my credit report to see they closed the account. It's a big shitty mark on my credit rating but I don't care about that.

Done the same with a contract phone too.
