Tbh IMO a front 3 of Podo, Alexis and Santi/JC/Wally when back could share our burdens theoretically.

The issue is fitness and integration.

Sanchez in the way he plays will really make the most of ThorHammerLeftFoot's delivery and also return the favour by potentially creating space for him by occupying defenders.

I feel sorry for Alexis if he has to play alongside Podolski Ozil and Cazorla lol the word "static" springs to mind.

On Saturday man was pressing and running down on man and ball like he was still at Barcelona... Look backed 20 yards and saw green grass and blue shirts. Convinced he went in that changing room and was bitching and got hauled off because of it.

We have the personnel.

I don't want to hear talk about we need extra strikers because honestly we DO provided we altered our current system away from the 4-1-4-1/4-2-3-1 hybrid.

However, if we continue with our current system, the strikers we currently have i.e. Sanchez, Podolski, Campbell & to a lesser extent Walcott don't 'fit' the profile of a CF & that's frustrating. Sanchez will not bang as a CF in the current system. In a different system, he can be a maniac.

The beginning of his regression into an average player

on reports of Arsenal signing Carlos Bacca…
I can give you my phone and in the next 24 hours you will see that you get plenty of people offered from all over the world.
on whether he will buy a striker…
I don't know because it doesn't depend only on me.
on if he is close to buying anyone…
I don't know what happened in the last two hours apart from in the game against Leicester.
on bidding for a striker…
We can talk and talk and talk about signing someone or not. Could we win the game today without anybody [new signings], yes. We have plenty of strikers even when we had Giroud. When we had Giroud, you asked me the same question so it's a recurrence as long as the transfer market is open to make everybody dream by thinking the solution is always somewhere where it's not necessarily obvious.
on Sanogo…
You have been 21 and you have certainly played football. If you play up front and you don't score it's very quickly a problem. I don't think that problem will last very long and at the moment when you have a chance to play for Arsenal Football Club as a centre forward and you don't score, it's a problem for you.
on Sanogo's performance…
He fought very hard today, you can say he didn't score yes and is it in his mind? Of course because he is a striker and he scored many goals as a young player.
on spending big money on a striker…
Is the amount of money we spend unlimited? No, because that's not the way we manage the club. We always try to make the right decision and we have the resources if we think it's the right player.

them sanogo bars

i dont even understand em

Mesut Özil has come out all guns blazing after criticism of his displays for Arsenal and most of all for the world champions, Germany.

“The fans believed I played a good World Cup. The statistics show that as well. I was satisfied with my performance at the World Cup. I know I could have scored more goals and shot more but I was surprised the press was negative,” he told the Daily Telegraph.

“In my first season at Arsenal there were times when I was not at my best but in the qualifiers for the national team I did perform well. Look, I scored the most goals in qualifying [eight]. The negative headlines were unfair.”

The playmaker pointed out he has been voted Germany’s national player of the year three times by fans and that an injury to the left-winger Marco Reus before the World Cup meant the Germany coach, Joachim Löw, had to shift him over.

“The negative criticism came out of nowhere, it went from zero to 100. I went from being the darling of German football, the jewel in the crown, to being hammered in the media,” Özil said.

“I’m one of the best players in the world in that No10 position. Fans, coaches, players and everyone knows that my best position is playmaker.

“It’s different playing on the left. Joachim Löw needed me on the left. It’s not about the individual, it’s about the team.“

Özil said he expects great things at Arsenal this season with the addition of Alexis Sánchez from Barcelona.

“Of course Arsenal can win the Premier League. We’ve strengthened our squad. We also want to show that we can play better in the Champions League. We have the potential to reach the final,” he said.

“We can achieve something big this season,” he added.

its peak still

on the one hand wenger attracts our most coveted players, how many have said playing him under him is the reason they came to us

on the other his stubborness, "squad rotation" and it must be said, tactical inneptness in the past couple years have contributed strongly to our middling/decline

i kno i werent the only one who wanted him gone whether we won our lost the FA cup and I can't say i feel too different atm

liverpool, tottenham, at a push everton as well, thats three teams with arguably (not imo) better managers than us (and better strikers) who we're in direct competition with

we always seem to pull it out but this might be the year our luck runs out, and it has been luck.
