Hogan

Cena

Undertaker

Rock/Austin

Those 5 are the 4 corners of WWF/WWE moving through the eras. And I wasn't a fan of Hogan (I hated him. Loved Warrior) or Cena. Both were forced on us as the face/force of the company and they always won, which jarred me. (I'm not going to moan about current wrestling and how many careers Cena kills before they even start, I will do that in the thread)

Hated bike riding Undertaker. Nonsense.

I have the WWE Network. Watched all the Royal Rumbles from 1988, and other day watched the Raw where Vince called Undertaker/Kane "pussies" and they then interrupted every match beating up everyone.

Legion Of Doom. As an adult you realise somethings were gimmicks and costumes and hype. They were my favourite when I was younger and I'd argue back then, greatest ever. They're probably my favourite. But you see the tag team era of

Hardy's

Dudley's

Edge/Christian

Dudley's proved IMO they're the best tag team EVER.

Jeff Hardy was the biggest draw in wrestling at one point.

RVD is a sideman compared to him lads.

WHen?

I see what Thizz is saying. It's not a wild statement and I see cases for and against. But he never had a long enough run. Matt screwed him and Edge took the title from him. Jeff had a run against HHH and his feud with CM Punk was a good one.

As for Mark Henry's statement, his time to speak up was when it was blatantly made obvious no black men has ever held the WWE Title. Not World Heavyweight. The WWE Title.

And if one more person says "The Rock"........

Vince is more racist than Hogan. He's just gotta distance himself from that nonsense. Can't be spitting that (or exposing it) in 2015. SMH.

well he had the young male audience first with the rapping gimmick and then pretty much everyone when he won the title

6 months later the male audience got bored and were like you can lose now and maybe we will jump back on you later.....

10 years later he is still superman and still doesnt have the young male audience

Its easy to see why cena got so popular

The wwe needed someone to carry the torch and be the poster boy for wwe.

All the greats left.

Rock left

Stone cold left

hhh got injured

Mick foley left

Lesnar left then went mma

Undertaker kept coming and going

Hbk retired

Benoit topped himself

Guerrero died

Kurt angle left.

put over wade barrett and established his career

“He has been the face for ten years, and he’s really good at what he does. But everyone knows that I don’t like John Cena, and he doesn’t like me either. You’re right, he does get booed by a lot of fans, lot of people don’t like him. But he sells a lot more t-shirts and other merchandise than anyone else. So there are a lot of people out there who like him too. Either way everyone has an opinion about him, I respect that. Personally I don’t like him and he doesn’t like me, we are not friends.”

you don't need to job to someone to put them over.

when nexus came in they could have attacked anyone. cena's stature was used to raise the profile of emerging superstars. simple as.

To lose to another wrestler in a match is referred to as "putting them over." Other ways to put over another wrestler is to convincingly sell their offense, or to give an interview that talks up the main qualities and abilities of another wrestler's character.
