Rsonist
Gareth Bale is relishing the hard graft of pre-season after his long spell on the sidelines. The Welsh international was a star of the early part of last season but damaged his foot against Birmingham City on December 2 - an injury that ruled him out for the rest of the campaign.Still just 18, Gareth has been a regular visitor to Spurs Lodge during the players' summer break and appears to be reaping the benefits - the management team are delighted with his fitness levels at this point of pre-season training."I feel great and I feel confident," said Gareth. "Pre-season is always about running at this stage and I feel strong."It won't be easy - pre-season never is - you have to graft through it and you will reap the rewards."Even though it's hard work I'm just happy to be back out there after being injured for such a long time, happy to be running and happy to be back to normal."Gareth particularly impressed in fitness tests on Friday and Saturday."I wasn't too sure where my fitness levels were at," he added. "I've worked hard throughout the off-season to get my fitness up and I was pleased with the tests, I wasn't expecting them to go so well."First team coach Marcos Alvarez said: "Gareth is working really well. His fitness is unbelievable. He's happy with his work and we feel he will be a very important player for us next season. His fitness levels are excellent and he has that fitness naturally."Great news. One of the best LB's in the league.
King Poetic
How is King's knee going? Or is it to early to tell?If you do know, is his knee able to last the whole season, unlike last season where he only played in significant matches? HangTheDJ
Malbranque been linked with us...Could be a possible Maloney replacement. But I don't see Steed wanting to swap Spurs reserves for a place on our bench, not much point.
BATTY BOY BUM BANDIT
Though 33 sounded a bit old but he is coming towards the end of his life cycle.Trying to think best way to describe him, Reads the game better than 99.9% of players. Postioning is too sick.Passing, hmm, will only really knock the ball sideways but will always find a man, never give the ball away. good player
