The Merengues are expected to make a lucrative move for Maicon...Real Madrid are set to launch a transfer offensive for Inter defender Maicon, according to his agent Antonio Caliendo, Goal.com can exclusively reveal. The Nerazzurri stopper has been making noises over his future, and reports in Italy have suggested he wants a better deal at the San Siro. Real Madrid have reportedly shown an interest in the Brazilian international, and Caliendo has told Goal.com that he expects that desire to be taken further."Now that Real Madrid have completed their attacking department, I think they will make a charge for Maicon," the agent told Goal.com."We are waiting for Real Madrid. I can foresee a transfer assault from them."Inter director Ernesto Paolillo recently revealed that the club would be sitting down with Maicon in order to discuss his future.

Franck Ribery has told Bayern Munich that he wants to leave the club and join the new generation of 'galacticos' at Real Madrid. The France international has been at the centre of a long-running saga over the past six months, with Real and Premier League champions Manchester United chasing his signature.Bundesliga runners-up Bayern have remained adamant that they will not be selling £30million-rated Ribery, but their star asset has now announced his desire to move away from Germany. The 26-year-old wants to follow Raul Albiol, Kaka, Cristiano Ronaldo and Karim Benzema in agreeing a big-money, summer move to the Bernabeu, delivering another transfer blow to United.Sir Alex Ferguson was thought to want Benzema, but the Frenchman has snubbed Old Trafford and is on the verge of moving to Spain, and Ribery looks set to do the same. Evolve"I have made up my mind, I want to leave," Ribery told L'Equipe. "It will be Real or nothing."I am waiting to see how things will evolve. Then, I would like to have a talk with Bayern's hierarchy." But Bayern's general manager Uli Hoeness insists that Ribery's announcement does not alter their stance. He said: "Franck wants to join Real? That doesn't change anything to us. Real never did us any concrete proposition. "The Real officials wanted to come to Munich, but we told them it was useless and they should save some plane tickets. "We don't need their money, and we will keep Franck come hell or high water."SSN

Sky Bet has revealed there has been a major plunge on Michael Owen joining Manchester United on a free transfer. His odds on moving to Old Trafford have been cut from 20/1 to 7/4, with Sky Bet's Mike Triffitt saying: "With Real Madrid hoovering up several high profile targets, United are running out of options to fill the void left by the departure of Ronaldo and Tevez and Owen is a cheap option. We've had a steady stream of bets on free agent Owen joining United today. A move to United should suit Owen, who wants to get back into the England squad and will feel he has a better chance with a higher profile club."20/1 into 7/4 takes SOME f*ck*ng MONEY!

Manchester United's offer remains the biggest for Valencia striker David Villa.Marca says United have left their £45 million bid on the table, despite Villa's camp claiming he now has his sights set on moving to Barcelona. Also working in United's favour is that Valencia president Manuel Llorente has been left non-plussed by Barca's behaviour during their pursuit of Villa and will only consider a cash offer for the striker.
