Mr. Gayle
Pissed been told cars a write off loved that car Never had a TT before, the newer FSI's look nice, spesh in blue. Of course considering a 3 series again, but don't really like the new shape THAT much but do like the hardtop convert though. 911 so nice but you need to spend big money for a decent version, the standard 1 is just far too basic for what you pay. Don't like ranges, q7s and them cars.
Salamanca
.. you will get to keep the car, despite getting a pay out, look for a brokers for parts for your car. its a 3 series, theres plenty of spare parts. i'd be shocked if it costs more than 3-4 bills to repair ur whip brew. Yung bawse
whats with all the new hatchbacks looking kind of similar.. focus, megan, astra etc..come like they're trying to somehow incorperate the shape of the siccoro. dunno if it's just me but it's like they're all forming the same kind of mould. Being quoted 5.7k to repair I reckon its suspension/axle damage But yeah will speak to a few ppl to see if they can fix it, the repair bill they have is from Stephen James a big hair BMW dealership
Salamanca
someone clipped my clk's rear bumper. literatelly clipped it. and i took it to mercedes for repair, and they said 7k. i sh*t you not. (they only sell parts that are not coloured, so they then charge you labour to colour code it etc.) dealerships and the likes are f*ck*ng wrongens. i got the car written off for 6k went to a breakers, found a rear bumper for £100 and the mechanic straightened out the axle for £50. total price £250. i kept the car too. use it to your advantage. i think you got the 3 series 2001-2005 coupe dont you? if so http://www.ebay.co.u...1c#ht_677wt_986 phone them first tho and ask if it'll fit, cause i aint really been a bmw guy edit: look through google for a specific bmw breakers. there will be plenty. Seymour Cake
But then ur car is a cat D? When u come to sell it you can't sell it at normal market value, when people hear cat d/c they run
KayGee
You have to buy your car back though?
Salamanca
cat b/c yes. cat d cars still get purchased. they lose 10-15% of their market value, unless they are fresh out of showroom, then they will lose quite a bit.
ruz
at the end of the day it depends if you got the time, effort and connections you need to buy the car back, buy parts, get someone reputable to fit it, the car has to go through tests by vosa etc to make sure its safe and road legal. then you decide if u want to sell it or keep it. no offence its only and e46 bmw and no tworth the hassle if is was something more new or desirable then it would be worth it a cat c/d e46 bmw will go for peanuts
Mr. Gayle
Safe for the advice, I have a few links so will speak to them Yeah I know its only a e46, but I love it best 3 series shape IMO. Also would my insurance go up cos the car would be CAT D, I dont think it should as Cat D is just written off as its not economical to repair to the car. Guest PROFIT MARGINS
Have u even checked that u can buy the car back? A lot of insurance companies don't let u buy back anymore because they know they can do the same as u an fix it up or sell on for breakers. Just get a new car u should be able to afford something similar to what u had anyway.
