Another thing you have to remember is that England as a nation is/was behind other nations in the aspect of naturing its talents, lets be honest years ago, it was very much a boys clubs. Wenger said he couldn't believe how bad Arsenal's youth system was when he joined the club. Nearly a decade later he saying the whole current under 18 squad will all make professional (debatable if its at Arsenal but thats another discussion) and the ones below them will be even better, so good they dare not let the rest of the World see them, smh. Arsenal are one of the few clubs getting players from younger than nine years old and just training them... Why you think Rafa is changing Liverpool system too, the change has/is obviously happening but it takes time.

Lol @ thinking Terry, Rio and Ashley Cole wouldn't make the Barcelona/Spain teams. None of these three players lack technical ability either. Wtf are you talking about?
Cuz you blind? It says "or they are defenders"... you know the positions JT, Rio and Ashley Cole play. And tbh the point was attacking creativity and technique. I'm sure great comparisons can be struck between Iniesta and Rio and JT
Then why mention them? And even then the English players you say have technique do not have the ability to play the way you're implying. Gerrard and Joe Cole could never play like Xavi and Iniesta do. They might be decent individual players but they do not have the technique you're suggesting.I'm a Chelsea fan and I honestly think Joe Cole is grossly overrated by 95% neutral football fans. If you lot watched him as much as I did you would understand just what type of players he is.

We spend more time developing raw talent acquired overseas like Ronaldo, Henry, Nasri etc.
This is true but I think it's more a cultural thing.
How so? Impact of foreign coaches?
I just think English kids are spoilt. They don't seem as motivated to push themselves as foreign kids.

I think alot of people are forgetting the fact that there is more than one way to win.Sure Barca/Spain have players with immense levels of technical ability but its just one aspect of the game.Remind yourselves that while Arsenal do play attractive football they finished 4th. Then look at Chelsea's powerfully styled football. They've come close so many times over the last few years and have been beaten by a multitude of different teams in a plethora of different ways which would suggest that if your going to play one specific way continously you better make sure that you are without a doubt dominant in that regard cos if your not you better have the ability to adapt.Alex Ferguson before last night seemed to have found the ability to make his teams adapt to different styles, but Barcelona are so dominant in their one style that it couldnt be compensated for.Man U fans keep talking about beating Barca last year but as Ive said before Guardiola has been the determining factor in the way Barca have moved on to the next level. On the France thing, they had players in every part of the pitch that were exceptional at what they did, then it was all strung together by Zidane who made football look easy. Saying that they just plucked players from Africa is cool but slightly clueless cos those players still had to be cultivated into world beaters.Back to the English players and you have to see that the problem isnt that they lack technical ability. The problem is that what the players posses and what would be considered their strengths, they just arent good enough at. Joe Cole is the easiest example of this cos you could name 5 or 6 players that do what he does better than he does it.England dont have 1 striker to Rival Spains top 3. A midfield that pales in comparison to what Spain dont even have to put on the pitch. I wont say much about the defenders except for the fact that they obviously arent mobile enough. And the leading goalkeeper for England bares the nickname "Calamity James"Its not enough though to see what another team/country has and try to emulate that (Even Capella has recognised that) what you do is you take what youve got, whatever your best at, and you make sure that no one can match you at that thing.Think Im chatting sh*t? Then think about this. Whats Italy's strength? Defence. Whats Spain's strength? Passing. Whats Brazil's strength? Flair. Now ask yourself what England's strength is. I bet you cant lay your finger on it.P.S. And while your at it, while France are in this transitional period ask yourself what their strength is too cos you will struggle to find that also.

trusttttttttttcouldnt c/s this enough and then other things in relation to this topic. just look at the youngsters to see the difference. even spains youth teams are ridiculous, the difference in technical ability to teams like england is ridiculous. from a young age the difference begins they just learn things in such different ways.

Wow, where do I start with all this fail?Bad refereeing decisions, poor finishing and just plain bad luck has cost Chelsea winning a couple of major trophies in the last 3/4 seasons. Losing on penalties in a semi, hitting a post and going out on away goals has nothing to do with how teams approach a game. Those things are 50/50 and if they had worked out in Chelsea's favour your argument would be bullshit. That it didn't work out in Chelsea's favour still doesn't mean your right, your argument is actually an embarrasment."Plethora of different ways"

What argument? Think about what Im saying. If I say make yourself the best you can be obviously someone else is gonna be workin to that same end. SMH.If my strength is strength and yours is speed I wouldnt expect you to be tryin to out muscle me. Are you dumb?If your the best at what you do against the best of what someone else does then you gotta hope other little things go your way SMFH

f*ck are you on about you mug? Chelsea's approach isn't what cost them. You're forgetting that Barcelona have also been knocked out by numerous English teams because they were easy to play against in previous seasons. They currently have some of the best players in the world playing for them that are actually suited to their game plan that is the only difference.

I at no point said Chelsea's approach cost them so stop being a prick. I have fully said that you must be dominant in your style (Which you just agreed barca are doing) to make the most of your opportunity. Stop lookin for ways to argue with me.

So you think scoring the only shot they had on target in 96 minutes of football in the 2nd leg is them being dominant in their style? The margins are so small that what your saying is useless. Luck, performence on the night etc are all as crucial as having a game plan you can master so I don't agree with you.Utd haven't mastered a game plan. They have the best squad in the league and won the league as a result. What have they mastered? The art of having a squad?

Like I said before my bad, I shouldn't have really brought them up but I was just mentioning the host of players they've developed in comparison to us (tbh Pique shouldn't be named along with the rest of them anyway).Joe Cole I rate in terms of individual talent. But even with him I mentioned before no way is he on the same level as Xavi, Iniesta, Gerrard or even Scholes in his prime.Gerrard and Rooney probably could fight for a place. You can't deny at times this season Gerrards play with his midfield and Torres was brilliant where they were getting in to space/making space for each other, commanding the ball, wanting the ball and I'm saying that as Man Utd fan.Pass and move should be basics, it's just disappointing to see the English game doesn't put enough emphasis on it.EDIT: Also What, Chelsea were unlucky against Barca no doubt. But the all important factor was Barca in the end passed them to submission as the media say. All night Chelsea played well defensively but for the goal the team went to sleep, everyone retreated in to the area and Barca knocked it around on the edge of the area for Iniesta to grab the away goal because of Barca's relentless pressure.

dont see how United can be used as an example for the way we bring up players as a country.baffed tbh.if anything yesterday proved that la liga isn't a joke like some of our top pundits had assumed.and that barca can never be discounted no matter the injuries/suspensions.

f*ck the academies over here.Players like Ronaldo, Messi etc. wouldn't stand much chance of coming through the academies over here. When i was at Charlton they tried to make me into a different player.Restricted the amount of touches you could have on the ball, didn't want me doing skills etc.Was upsetting

Lampard does not lack technical ability , you wally @ topic maker.
Allow it, don't talk sh*t and get off his d*ck.He scores one left footer after some clumsy turn that isn't deflected and man's got great technical ability... SEEN.Even man admits himself that he hasn't got great tecnhical ability, he grafts and that Rooney and Joe Cole are strides better, now take off your blue tinted shades and sit back down.
