I need to get back into dancehall, thing is last time I checked it had gone slightly downhill and I rarely liked any non-BigShip releases. Has the scene got better than last year or worse?
in my opinion...its got worseTo some 2k9 dancehall up so far... Kartel is flooding the market with 30 tunes a week spraying sh*t and hoping some will stick.Serani has only released 2 tunes, (which speaks for itself)Movado spent the first 3 months of the year not doing much, but is now releasing some good material.Stephen hasn't released any big riddims so far, mainly concentrating on singles

Well I guess it's better off for him because he'll be making more money but the scene needs his hype riddims in circulation. Day Break was just too much. Man's signed to EMI publishing anyhow, I have no idea what that means but I suppose it's a good look for him.Gonna hit up these blogspots in a while and check what the new stuff is saying.
Baile Funk(this first started off as an asinine response to a retarded question by thinking of the most obscure genre but after doing a quick search i am now in love with it. i want to attend this rave)
these latinos need to stop vocalling their tunes and maybe they'll end up sounding better

Gotta agree it has gone worse. No one's relelasing any good riddims at the mo. Good Life is still killing it for me. Its June now so hopefully everyone starts releasing their big hitters true its summer holidays. Usually have the big ones running by now though. The ban shouldnt even affect the quality of riddims so dunno wawh gwarn Roots side of thing is popping for me right now. Indiscretion, Changes, Dub Wise, Good Love etc. are hot riddims imo. And in answer to thread, you already know. Suits every mood

Oh sh*t, completely forgot about the ban. Do JA have royalty collection for TV/radio like other countries? 'cause that would definitely explain why big riddims aren't poppin off. There'd be no money in it for the producers really... especially with none of these riddim albums getting made, how can there only have been 3 Riddim Drivens last year? and one of them (Shadows) was like 3 riddims pushed into one.
