Lets be real now, Wenger has always acted swiftly in up and coming markets. The French market died a few years ago, too expensive, players are too physically concenrated and manufactured because most are imports from Africa, hence the demise of French national team in World/European comeptitions. It's time to find another market, I think he could goto Eastern Europe, improving nations, grounded individuals, hard working, technically improving, everything the French were.

People who are saying that Arsenal wont be missing out on much, I.E on the playing side, need to realise that this transfer of your 1st choice Left back and correct me if im wrong vice captain, holds more significance than just from a playing point of view, especially considering who you are selling to, if City also get Nasri then......just hope he prefers red

Didn't rate Clichy, but I do agree at City he can improve massively defensively and become a much better player.I'm pretty sure at training Wenger just takes the midfielder and attackers off and leaves the defensive players to their own devices. Not to mention we haven't had a tactically inept defensive leader probably since Tony departed.Clichy is a player who IMO needs direction and guidance in his defensive duties and he'll get all that at City.In my eyes he didn't really progress at Arsenal as a defender and I don't blame him for that.

Your wrong, van Persie is vice-captain.I think its depends on the reasons, which still aren't clear at the moment, however something very telling for me is that while Wenger is prepared to play a waiting game on Fabregas and Nasri, he wasn't on Clichy...

Newcastle boss Alan Pardew believes Gael Clichy's move from Arsenal to Manchester City could impact on the future of left-back Jose Enrique.Enrique is yet to agree an extension to his deal at St James' Park, which has a year to run, and Pardew admits Clichy's move could spark new interest."I don't think it helps the situation," Pardew told BBC Newcastle."There'll be a lot of speculation about who will replace Clichy and the knock on effect. It's not helped our cause."Pardew added: "There was a big part of me thinking he would not return for the first day of training but it looks like he is going to take part and that's good news."The former Spain Under-21 international was linked with a switch away from St James' Park for much of last season, with Liverpool one of the reported suitors for his services. However Pardew has consistently outlined his desire to retain the full-back at the club, despite the player's ambitions.Continue reading the main storyAs he's got a year to run on his contract and has a desire to play Champions League football, at his age it means it'll be difficult to keep Jose"No one is more keen for him to stay than myself. He was a terrific player for us last year and terrific for the club," Pardew said."We're trying to persuade him to stay, but as he's got a year to run on his contract and has a desire to play Champions League football, at his age it means it'll be difficult to keep him."It's one of those where we have to keep watching and hope it falls our way."It would be foolish not to have a back-up plan, which we have, and that will kick into operation if Jose does leave."

ALEX SONG has been accused of beating up a student in an African bar - and could face jail. The Arsenal midfielder, 23, received charges of malicious wounding while on holiday in his home town of Douala in Cameroon last month.Song has not been arrested and does not have to appear at a court hearing on August 18. But if found guilty he could face a maximum of two years in prison.Song maintains he did not touch a student in a alleged late-night bar brawl on June 7.But Ludovic Achille Mouaha told an initial hearing: "I was having a drink with my girlfriend."She went to the bathroom but when she hadn't come back after 15 minutes I went to see if something had happened."Two bodyguards blocked my way telling me I couldn't use it because Alex Song was inside."He then came out and was visibly angry. I ended up in a drain and afterwards went to hospital."A representative of Song told the judge: "Some fans asked for his autograph including a young woman."The plaintiff later rushed after her and caused a scuffle and Alex's bodyguards reacted in the interest of safety. But at no time did Alex lay a hand on the plaintiff."Read more: http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/3677369/Arsenal-star-Alex-Song-in-jail-fear.html#ixzz1RBHe3cc7

I think if those Scholes comments don't spur any of the Arsenal team to fight for us and stay for the forseen future then they can all f*ck off tbh and Id rather play a youth team.I wish I was centre back at Arsenal i'd f*ck*ng show these cunts what its all about to be british and play for a british club, i'd f*ck*ng slap the cunts across the whole room and make them feel the pain, make them understand this is life and death for our fans on the roadsides, we pay tax, eat beans on toase and lucky to have some moeny to shop at primark but will f*ck*ng put the food on our players tables, put the gym in their training ground, made the ground they play in every week, f*ck*ng cunts should be fighting for us, FIGHTING FOR THE ARSENAL
