Bordeaux president Jean-Louis Tiraud insists there has been no approach for Yoann Gourcuff after reports linked the midfielder with Arsenal.Gourcuff, who will represent France at the World Cup in South Africa when it gets under way next Friday, has been rumoured as a potential replacement for Cesc Fabregas at the Emirates should the Spaniard move back to Barcelona.Tiraud, however, has denied receiving any offers for the 23-year-old, and refused to comment further on the speculation."I'm not going to comment on anything from the English newspapers," Tiraud said in L'Equipe."Today, I have received no offer for Gourcuff or anybody else for that matter. We know what the English tabloids are like."Fabregas was going to Barcelona, everything was done, and I just saw (Arsenal boss Arsene) Wenger say that Fabregas will stay in London. I will not be drawn into this game."

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has defended the club's pursuit of Arsenal captain Cesc Fabregas and admitted Yaya Toure could be on the move to the Premier League. The Catalan giants had an official £29 million bid rejected for Fabregas this week, while reports have linked Toure with a switch to Manchester United, Chelsea, Manchester City and the Gunners.Speaking to reporters today, Laporta said: "Barça is making a considerable effort. To offer £29 million for a player like him it fits for our transfers prize. We are in negotiations and let's see how this develops. Sometimes, this kind of operation is resolved in such a speed and sometimes, in other."Laporta also said he had "full confidence" that Arsenal will change their mind over Cesc and let the player go, considering "the player's interest" of reaching a deal. Finally, Laporta said "it's not Barcelona's style" when asked if Cesc would use the 17th article of FIFA rules on transfers to buy out his contract and leave Arsenal.Laporta said on Yaya: "Both Touré, a player which I really like and I love, and Dimitri Seluk [his agent] get a great respect from me. Dimitri does his job putting first the player's interest, and I always will be grateful for him.""I would like Barcelona to keep Yaya, but, if it can't be like that because he wants to have more presence in another team and he guarantee more playing time there, then we'll have to see."

Barcelona presidential candidate Sandro Rosell has warned the club he won't pay over the odds to prise Cesc Fabregas from Arsenal.Rosell is the frontrunner in the Spanish giant's elections, and the man most likely to succeed Joan Laporta in nine days time. However, while insisting he would do "everything possible" to land the Gunners captain, he confessed he wouldn't be drawn into paying extortionate sums even if it meant missing out on the player top of their summer wish-list.“To pay €60-70 million [£49m - £58m] which is what I am reading, is too much,” Rosell told Marca newspaper.Fabregas, who scored 15 times for Arsenal in the Premier League last season, has reportedly informed Arsene Wenger he would relish a move to Barcelona where he started his career. The La Liga giants made an initial bid last week, reported to be around the £30m mark, a figure the north London club dismissed.Wenger has stated his stellar performer won't be departing the Emirates this summer, no matter what is offered, and Rosell moved to praise Wenger's negotiating skills."He’s an old cat [Wenger], he knows a lot and is quite capable of protecting his club,” he added.
Hopefully Fab reads this and sees how barca really don't want him that much

Mark SchwarzerGathering pace, lets talk on it...Hard to be pissed when Almunia & Fabianski is our current crop, but I dunno...
Wenger really really really thinks Szczesny is gonna be that guy from what I've seen he could be so maybe Schwarzer wouldn't be that bad for the short term but still I dunno llow placing more faith in youngsters who may not come good

We NEED someone new in goal and Schwarzer is considerably better then the options we got. I just dont get why we havent gone in for Akinfeev or Hart yet, I'm scared all this Fabregas talk will overshadow our goalkeeping situation and we'll start with Almunia and Fabianski again next season.

Schwarzer is better than our 3 choices, his a good solid keeper always putting in a shift and rarely lets down. 37 years old can do a job for a couple season before Szczesny takes over.My first choice would be Hart, this kid has it and is a future England number 1.I heard talk of Robert Green but that one always comes up every window

Joe Cole will return home from the World Cup and join Arsenal on a free transfer. The England midfielder took the heartbreaking decision to leave Chelsea after failing to agree a new contract in the final months of the season. His primary reason for leaving Stamford Bridge after seven years at the club was growing concerns about his chances of regular first-team football under manager Carlo Ancelotti.Cole informed Chelsea last week that he intended to exercise his right to leave under freedom of contract.Earlier in the season the Blues withdrew a £100,000- a-week offer to Cole after he demanded parity with the second tier stars at the club, who are on £130,000 a week.It proved to be a costly error as Chelsea were poised to reduce that offer by £20,000 a week, matching his current salary at the club. But Cole had no intention of coming to the table again and his increasing frustrations in the closing months of the campaign convinced him to seek a new challenge elsewhere. He is expected to sign a four-year contract at the Emirates in a deal not dissimilar to the one Sol Campbell signed when he joined from Spurs on a free in 2001.That will see Cole’s potential earnings hit £100,000 a week.It represents a great piece of business by Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger, who has seen off competition for Cole from Champions League rivals Manchester United and Tottenham.Manchester City and Liverpool were also in the hunt for the 28-year-old, but it favoured Arsenal that Cole is settled living in London.http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Transfer-News-Joe-Cole-of-Chelsea-will-sign-for-Arsenal-after-the-World-Cup-article449653.html

Any of the England 3 please, kthanxbai
No to James, experienced, commanding, good enough, yes, but 39, lot of injuries last year, man got off the plane from South Africa and had to rest his knee due to the flight, playing for Arsenal its 3 games a week, no arthritis victims.
