Sebastian Giovinco's agent has revealed that his client is to leave Juventus in search of regular first-team football. The diminutive playmaker was tipped to be the next big thing in Italy upon bursting onto the scene in 2007.However, the 23-year-old has struggled to force his way into the fold under a succession of managers at Stadio Olimpico and is growing increasingly frustrated. It appears the time has now come for him to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere, with incoming boss Luigi Del Neri failing to give him the assurances he wants to hear. The likes of Arsenal, Bari and Parma are all reported to be ready to make their move, and Giovinco's representative expects a decision to be made before the end of the week.

He didn't demonstrate anything at Tottenham that makes me believe he can make a squad of average to below average players consistently over-perform. (All jokes about our two 5th place finishes aside.)Don't really want it to, but I can see it ending in tears.

Liverpool have swooped to secure the services of England international Joe Cole on a four-year deal, subject to a medical. The talented midfielder became a free agent at the start of the month when his contract with Chelsea expired with the Blues electing not to extend his seven-year stay at Stamford Bridge.New Reds boss Roy Hodgson claimed at the weekend that he had not held talks with the former West Ham player, but the deal has now been concluded.Cole moved to Chelsea from Upton Park in a £6.6million switch in the summer of 2003 but was shown the door with the Blues not willing to meet his wage demands. The 28-year-old has three Premier League winners' medals to show from his time in West London and also helped Chelsea to two FA Cup successes.CreativeCole was part of Fabio Capello's England squad for the dismal World Cup display in South Africa this summer but was restricted to a bit-part role as the Three Lions crashed out in the second round with a 4-1 humbling by Germany.Hodgson will hope Cole's ability to unlock defences will help the Reds climb back into the UEFA Champions League reckoning following their disappointing seventh-place finish last term. The creative Cole has rejected advances from rival Premier League teams - including those who could offer Champions League football this season - to compete in the Europa League with the Reds.A statement on the club's official website read: "Liverpool FC are delighted to confirm the signing of Joe Cole on a four-year deal."The England midfielder has agreed personal terms with the Reds and will undergo a medical in the next 48 hours."

According to talkSport radio, AC Milan striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar was last night spotted in Manchester airport ahead of talks with one of Manchester City, Manchester United or Liverpool. The prolific forward has endured a chastening spell in Serie A with AC Milan and prior to that in La Liga with Real Madrid, since leaving Dutch football in 2009, and although in the past he has been strongly coveted by North London Premier League rivals Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur most notably last January, the 26-year-old is reportedly in the North of England to thrash out a deal with one of Harry Redknapp and Arsene Wenger’s league counterparts.AC Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani recently claimed the forward would probably be sold to an English club and talkSport have sparked a flurry of transfer rumours regarding the player’s potential next club.Manchester City recently allowed Benjani and Valeri Bojinov to leave Eastlands, and the cash-rich side have also been frustrated in their purported efforts to prise Edin Dzeko away from Wolfsburg. Likewise a deal for Fernando Torres looks unlikely and although Roberto Mancini remains in the running for Inter Milan’s Mario Balotelli, Huntelaar is a forward with Champions League pedigree and would cost considerbaly less than any of those mentioned.Liverpool have also been name checked in regards to the former PSV youngster, and Huntelaar’s £10 million fee would be of huge appeal to a club very much in the rebuilding process.Manchester United have only added Javier Hernandez to a forward line that relied heavily on Wayne Rooney last season, and although Sir Alex Ferguson has hinted his summer business is concluded, talkSport have suggested to the contrary. The report yesterday intimated that the Holland international was due to hold talks with the three aforementioned Premier League suitors before concluding a deal before the end of the month.Huntelaar has scored goals where ever he has been, most notably netting a staggering 76 goals in just 92 games for Ajax. The forward has also scored 16 goals for Holland.

The agent of Roman Pavlyuchenko claims that negotiations are taking place with Tottenham regarding a loan move to Sporting. Russia international Pavlyuchenko suffered an unsettled season in 2009/10 after failing to command a regular place in Harry Redknapp's plans. The 28-year-old did force a spot in Tottenham's first team when finding some form towards the end of the campaign but Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe appeared to be the preferred partnership.Pavlyuchenko was a target of Lokomotiv Moscow earlier in 2010 but, according to his representative, Thomas Zorn, Sporting now want to agree a loan move and are attempting to reach a financial agreement. "Negotiations exist with Tottenham for the loan of the player but I think that this is complicated by money," Zorn told Portuguese media."Pavlyuchenko has a price and the money situation of Sporting makes it very difficult to reach an agreement."The contact continues but at this moment the forward is with Spurs. If Tottenham reject the player, it is clear that Sporting would be a good destination."Lisbon-based newspaper A Bola claims that Tottenham want to negotiate a deal which would include a swap for rising star winger Armindo Bangna Bruma.

Portsmouth have confirmed they have withdrawn their contract offer to England international keeper David James. The 39-year-old, who is set for talks with SPL giants Celtic, has failed to give a response to Pompey's offer before their required deadline.James was linked with a coaching role at Fratton Park, but the South Coast club have now subsequently withdrawn their offer.Chief executive David Lampitt discussed James' future at length with new manager Steve Cotterill and felt they needed clarity on their goalkeeping position with the new season just around the corner.Tricky situation"It was a tricky situation. Steve Cotterill and I discussed it at length," Lampitt told The News."From my point of view, we did our absolute best in trying to keep him. I would have loved for him to stay at the club."We had various meetings with him and the process went on for quite a long time. The difficulty for us is that we have got to resolve our goalkeeping situation."It got to a point where we needed to have some certainty with only three weeks to go until the new season and we need to look at other options."We kept the offer open for as long as we reasonably could to try to give us the best opportunity of retaining him. Unfortunately, that hasn't happened."

The 'nice guy' masks are beginning to slip from both Jol and Fulham. Ajax are flailing, and have already made it clear they want to hold him to the two years left on his contract. Yet he's still gone ahead and agreed terms. He'll spunk money on tat for two seasons then ride Donkey out of Craven Cottage when al-Fayed refuses to bankroll anymore. FACT.

Skysports.com understands West Ham have invited Algerian keeper Rais M'Bohli to their pre-season training camp. The Hammers are currently in Bavaria as they step up their preparations for the 2010/11 campaign.Manager Avram Grant has been busy in the transfer market since arriving in the Upton Park hot-seat this summer, with the West Ham squad in need of fine tuning. The Israeli continues to keep his eyes peeled for potential new recruits and appears to have identified the goalkeeping department as an area which needs work.England international Robert Green is the undisputed No.1 for the Hammers, but he is the only experienced shot-stopper on their books at present.OffersWith that in mind, Grant has opted to run the rule over African ace M'Bohli, who figured for Algeria at the 2010 World Cup.His current employers, Slavia Sofia, are reported to be keen to cash-in on the 24-year-old and are willing to listen to offers.M'Bohli has prior experience of life in British football, although a forgettable spell at SPL outfit Hearts in 2006 saw him leave Scotland without making an appearance. He has also taken in trials at Newcastle and Manchester United over recent times, but has been unable to earn a contract with either club.
Looks like Grant wants a whole new squad.
