DEFINATLY a possibility on this evidence.
Aston Villa - Relegation?
ASTON VILLA will have to take a £1m hit on crocked star Jermaine Jenas. The on-loan former England midfielder has been sent back to parent club Tottenham after rupturing his Achilles tendon at the weekend.
Jenas faces surgery and is expected to be ruled out for the remainder of the season.
But despite sending him home, Villa are committed to paying his £40,000-a-week wages under the terms of the season-long loan arrangement.
And that leaves them lumbered with more than six months of his £2m-a-year salary.
They have hardly had value for money from Jenas, who was injured in his first training session with the club.
He has played just 108 minutes in three games this season, which works out at £18,519 per minute.
Jenas was carried off after 64 minutes of his first start against Manchester United on Saturday when he went down unchallenged.
Scans have shown the injury to be more serious than first hoped and now Tottenham will supervise his treatment and recovery.
But one thing looks certain – Jenas has been seen in a Villa shirt for the last time.
Boss Alex McLeish has nothing but sympathy for the 28-year-old’s tortuous run of luck.
McLeish said: “It’s a shame for the lad, really bad luck. It must be hellish for him. We have to let Tottenham sort it out. We just haven’t got started with Jenas at all.”
McLeish will now ask Villa’s American tycoon owner Randy Lerner to loosen the purse strings so that he can bring in a replacement in the January transfer window.
The United match proved to be a disastrous one for Villa, with goalkeeper Shay Given also carried off seven minutes before half-time with a hamstring injury.
The 35-year-old Republic of Ireland star – rated one of the Premier League’s top keepers – is expected to be out for a month.
McLeish said: “It’s disappointing to lose Shay like that but these things happen and you just have to get on with it.”
Given’s deputy Brad Guzan will be first name on the team sheet for Saturday’s clash at Bolton.
McLeish added: “We have got to trade carefully, but I know Randy is right behind me if there is an opportunity to do something.”

5pts above the Relegation Zone.
Sad times.
Horrible side, I watched them at the Emirates, i was lower tier and close to the action, their players looked so fat and slow compared to ours..dreadful.. Benty must be kicking himself
We're dreadful and deserve to go down.
Don't think we will though. 38 should do it and there should be 5 points in our remaining fixtures.
8 games left & they haven't exactly got a easy run to the end of the season. Still got to play us, Man U, Spurs, Sunderland, Bolton etc
