So he parred off Sunderland to turn out in front of 19,000 every week for Torino instead. Can't help but think there's some weird misplaced arrogance behind that decision. Which will be dressed up as 'English player not afraid to go abroad'

Only two reasons I could ever see him doing this 

1) to get out of the media spotlight and embarrassment of not earning a move to a bigger club in England. Ride out a year in the sun and try sort a move to Liverpool next summer 

2) get the attention of a Milan, Inter or Roma 

 

Knowing his arrogance it's probably option 1
