Jones has no business in central defence, carrick can carry him in midfield.

Its a shame the guys second touch is a tackle otherwise hed be very good once he matured.

This Benteke thing is going to roll and roll. Spurs supposedly preparing to bid £20m. Randy won't sell for a penny less than £25m.

Won't it be finished by the end of the week?

Thought you guys were looking to set a deadline

Jovetic having his medical

£23M fee agreed with City

LMFAO

Mata all over again. Arsenal the only team linked with him strongly for a good 6 months then Chelsea come out the blue (no pun) and snap him up

Wenger comes like that guy in the group who always pets and regrets in the end.

Hold on.

Didnt he tell Arsenal, he want to stay in Italy?

Fiorentina wanted 30m Euros, he was flirting with Juve, so typically Arsenal postured for a minute and then moved on to the next... I hope he loves Manchester.

Luis Suarez's summer saga could turn messy – over the interpretation of a £40million release clause, writes the Sunday People's Dean Jones.

Liverpool accept that the Uruguay striker may speak to clubs if a £40m bid arrives but believe they do not have to sell at that price.

The Suarez camp are of the opinion their man can choose to walk away if the release clause is triggered.

Suarez has hinted at a move away from the club for some time - and could finally get his move this summer.

Liverpool value their star asset closer to £50m but a bid of £40m from Real Madrid, Arsenal or Chelsea would prove testing.

Brazilian’s agent confirms bid from Manchester United

Manchester United have made a bid for Roma’s Brazilian centre-back Marquinhos according to his agent.

The 19-year-old has been touted as a possible alternative for Barcelona should they miss out on signing fellow Brazilian Thiago Silva but it looks like United have joined in the hunt to sign him.

Speaking to Spain’s Mundo Deportivo, his agent Roberto Calenda confirmed that Roma had received offers from PSG and United for Marquinhos.

“The player is back from vacation and joined to work with the idea to help his team in the best way possible.

“However, the club has informed us of the possibility of selling to Marquinhos and we have to respect the decisions they make.

“There are offers from PSG, Manchester (United) and Barcelona and Rome could accept one of them.”

The 19-year-old spent over a decade with Brazilian outfit Corinthians before joining Roma last year but he made quite an impact with the Serie A side in his 22 appearances.

Mainly operating as a centre back, Marquinhos made an average of 2 tackles and 2.7 interceptions per game and at 19, he is already playing with Brazil’s U23 squad.

Unsurprisingly, that sort of Brazilian talent comes at a price and with a €25-30m fee being touted, United could be priced out of a move but we have already tabled our bid so the interest is genuine.

With a move for Ezequiel Garay also being heavily discussed, United look to be in the market for a new centre back and given Ferdinand (34) and Vidic’s (31) ages, Moyes may well want to bring in some more youth despite his options in defence already with Jones, Evans and Smalling.

Don't even have to see all the figures to know that:

United - Half hearted bid that we'll expect him to accept because we're Manchester United, champions of the greatest league in the world and at least once a season he can take on the challenge of playing @ the Britannia

Barca - Will probably match our offer but at the end of the day it's Barcelona and the Brazilian players will drop quotes about how much they would love to have him at the club.

PSG - Their transfer fee and wages will blow everyone out of the water.

I think its because United have always played this rigid effective football, but more built on pace and power rather than flair and genius.

LOL

By etc. do you mean Anderson and the Da Silva?

Kenyon ruined Dinho's transfer, Lucas said Thiago Silva convinced him plus PSG offered more money and for Thiago it was a chance to work with Guardiola again.

And go back and watch our football in 2008 when we played with Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney upfront interchanging and tell me that was rigid, effective football.

So nah I wouldn't agree United is or has been a desirable destination for Brazilian players due to te style of play a lot of them employ

Infact Anderson is probably the best suited to it due to the athletic nature of his game

Ramires /Sandro would be another

However as a rule the PL isn't littered with these type of players anyway
