Police does have a factor but uk rappers rap about nothing. In european scenes too much material talk and superficial shit doesnt really get no love. Of course there is exceptions to that rule but there is a selected few who have the ability to craft concepts.

Yeah French and german rappers are eating calm. I think someone mentioning the language been more appealing in those countries.
Was hearing something about france have a percentage of English/us music they are allowed can play on their air waves..

UK rap will only ever be big in the UK, america cant relate to us like we feel we can relate to them, there culture is so interwoven into our own through media, we believe that we share lots of similarities but in reality they dont under stand us, we have a funny accent to them, and think we sip tea with our pinkys up play cricket and go fox hunting. UK rap is a dead scene and will only ever be an imitation of the art, we've not had any influence or direction on the art form we just copy it, anything to do with gang violence and stuff like that is shut down in the uk, you cant get by with a niche audience over here like you can in america.
think the reason the other countries have a bigger following is the language as well as the size of the countries
UK rap needs to fuck off, if grime had everyone supporting it like they did hip hop back in the day, UK would of had a much bigger support from the states i believe because it was a uk sound something different that the states hadnt herd before, hip hop has survived for some long because the sound kept evolving and hip hop artists never switched genres because something new sounded cool, they all repped hip hop no matter what, any slight change in the sound or formula over here it got given a new name and birth to a new genre which had people jumping on to the next best thing, why is america gonna support english clowns tryna copying there music and lifestyle when there local rappers they can relate too are better

You don't need to roll with them on a daily basis for the police to know your affiliations thats the point.
Police will shut down your show because your affiliated to such and such person, such and such gang, in fears it will incite violence.
And also rap and streets have been intertwined since the inception, all of a sudden just because you blow doesn't mean you have to stop rolling with the guys you used to. In the 90's golden era, Mobb Deep, Nas, Biggie, every single rapper more time rolled with people that had serious criminal backgrounds some still do, thats just the nature of rap given its a genre that originated from the black underclasses.
