tbh its all probably bullshit, you think utd gonna let one of the best prospects in recents times potentially leave over a few thousand pounds?

unless ravel is really pissed at the lack of game time,

Isnt it more to do with the club being pissed at his attitude n behaviour? From what ive read (might be rubbish) it seems like the club are trying their best to help/bly him but hes not looking to change or understand the position hes in.

plus the company he keeps isn't the greatest

but there comes a time where Rav has to be accountable for his own actions too, when that proverbial penny drop is anyones guess, but i hope its at United and not somewhere else

Twitter is the devil,

The Fergie of the 90's would've banned the squad from using it, especially after the Gibson thing.

Also when it's cone down to contracts and the like David Gill is as good as it gets tbh.

He may well be a c*nt for other things but when dealing with players he's top draw, especially considering what he's had to work under for the last few years.

Best at what he does tbh

Newcastle have made the first move in the race to sign in-demand teenager Ravel Morrison but Manchester United have rebuffed their opening bid.

The promising 18-year-old forward put a host of Barclays Premier League suitors on alert when he rejected the champions latest contract offer.

Morrison's Old Trafford deal expires this summer and it is understood the club have reluctantly placed him on the transfer list rather than risk losing him for nothing at the end of the season.

Highly-regarded: but Ravel Morrison's United career has been dogged by personal problems

Newcastle are believed to have pounced with an ambitious £500,000 bid but United reportedly refused, waiting an improved fee and a significant percentage future sell-on clause.

Tottenham and Arsenal are also monitoring Morrison's situation but United have not yet given up completely on finding a solution to keeping the talented prospect

However, it is very much the case that Morrison’s problems are beginning to impact on his standing at the club.

Manager Sir Alex Ferguson and chief executive David Gill have done everything they can to help the teenager during a time when he has been in and out of trouble with the police.

Newcastle United chasing wonder kid Ravel Morrison after Manchester United put him up for sale

Newcastle United have had an initial bid for Ravel Morrison rejected after Manchester United reluctantly put their hugely talented 18 year-old up for sale.

Morrison’s contract expires in the summer and, having lost patience with his repeated truancy from training, Manchester United are looking to secure a sale during this transfer window.

Newcastle have made the first bid – in the region of £500,000 – which United turned down last weekend.

United are seeking a higher fee as well as a clause that would give them a significant percentage of any future sale.

As Morrison is still only 18, if he moved within England in the summer his transfer fee would be set by a tribunal, an unpredictable situation which United want to avoid.

While there had been a preliminary discussion about a new contract for Morrison at Old Trafford earlier this season, the player has not yet received an official offer in writing and his representatives were given permission to look for a new club this month.

In terms of raw talent Morrison, a creative midfielder, is the most exciting player to emerge in English football in recent years and arguably the most technically gifted to come through at Carrington since Paul Scholes.

Sir Alex Ferguson has described him as a “very, very talented boy” while Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has singled him out as the player to watch in 2012.

Morrison, who has played for England at under-16, under-17 and under-18 level, made his debut for United in October 2010 and had been expected to make his breakthrough this season.

Yet he is also a troubled character from a difficult background. He pleaded guilty to two counts of witness intimidation last year and was sentenced to a 12-month referral order and ordered to pay costs and compensation of £1,445.

He has also suffered from disciplinary problems at United, where the admiration for his talent is matched by frustration at his failure to consistently apply it by turning up to training.

There have been times this season when Morrison appeared to have cracked it at United only to backslide again.

However much Ferguson admires his ability, there is a reluctant acceptance at United that he needs to get away from all the damaging distractions of Manchester. His ability will ensure that there is a queue of clubs looking to buy him.

Newcastle have acted quickly as Alan Pardew is confident he can cope with the more erratic aspects of Morrison’s character.

Morrison has become frustrated at what he perceives as his slow elevation to playing first team football and, at Newcastle, he would be fast-tracked into action.

Newcastle’s continued interest will depend on the size of the fee United demand for their player. While they have moved quickest, Arsenal are also understood to be monitoring the situation and, if they decide to pursue their interest, could out-bid Newcastle.

Morrison would develop nicely at arsenal. Would be in first team starting within 6 months. As long as this kid stays straight off the pitch hell be a problem. Regardless of where he ends up

Arsene Wenger has an equally bad record of letting talented youngers go tbh.

Vela should be a starter by now and Theo should be more established by now, Oxo ain't getting the chances he should either.

Manchester United won’t rush Tom Cleverley’s recovery now Paul Scholes is back

Stuart Mathieson

January 12, 2012

Tom Cleverley is being eased back to fitness by United and Paul Scholes’ shock comeback is all part of Sir Alex Ferguson’s patient plan.

The Reds boss had originally scheduled the 22-year-old for a Christmas comeback from ankle ligament damage.

But Fergie didn’t want to force Cleverley’s return for fear of another setback and United’s medical staff had been told not to give the thumbs-up until he was completely ready.

Cleverley originally injured his ankle against Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok Stadium in September after a tackle by Kevin Davies.

He missed nine matches before returning for an hour in the Carling Cup game at Aldershot six weeks later in October. The successful comeback saw him start against Everton at Goodison Park four days later.

But Cleverley injured the ankle again on Merseyside when taking a shot and has been absent ever since.

United’s poor form in late autumn was put down to the England youngster’s absence. Darren Fletcher’s illness and Anderson’s knee injury put pressure on United for upbeat progress reports on Cleverley.

But Ferguson resisted the clamour and Anderson’s early return on New Years’ Eve helped ease the pressure.

However, Scholes’ retirement U-turn has taken the heat off Cleverley’s need to rush back and all thoughts of fast-tracking him have now been shelved.

Cleverley has been doing intensive gym and pool work at Carrington but is being earmarked for a return to outside work sometime next week. The end of January was being considered for a potential comeback date but United’s fixture list contains a number of heavyweight contests at the close of the month and the Reds are unlikely to risk Cleverley in such high-profile games.

United play Arsenal at the Emirates a week on Sunday then have the FA Cup fourth round date with Liverpool before facing Stoke at Old Trafford.

A visit to Stamford Bridge to face Chelsea in February followed by Liverpool’s Premier League visit to Old Trafford is an intense programme that wouldn’t suit Cleverley finding his feet again.

The nearest possible opportunity to get him back into senior action could be the Europa League match in Amsterdam against Ajax on February 16.

What has Vela done to warrant first team?

He ain't really been given a fair crack of the whip, always been in and out, never good consecutive run of games in the league.

He shouldn't be out on loan again that's for sure and should be way further down the line development wise with his ability.

As I've said before we bought Hernandez last year and he has jumped ahead of Vela just because he has been given the chances.

Was he given the good run of consecutive games before he proved he warranted a place,

Or did he prove he warranted it before he was given a good run,

Tbh Hernandez had a lot going for him, he was On a decent run, coming of the world cup, Rooney had injuries, was off form and had contract disputes. And he hit the ground running right from the off by scoring in the Charity Sheild.

Fergie said himself that he never intended to use Hernandez as much as he did but circumstance led him to having to and it just worked out.

Hernandez took his chance, gotta give it to him.

Immediate impact like that from a player coming from so far is rare.

I just feel Wenger ain't really fancied Vela for some reason, which is weird because then why by him in the 1st place, the tek is there for all to see.

Wenger tried but Vela failed to deliver. The switch to 4-3-3 killed him

Also, everytime we looked to give him games he would come back from national duty either tired/late/injured.
