“When people go into new jobs it can take a little bit of time to settle in,” he said. “We have got ourselves into a position that is a bit further away in the league than we would like.

“We had a difficult start, then we had a couple of slip-ups. We would have expected to kick into gear by now and we haven’t. We have to do better. But we will get it right. I am sure of that.

“I have lost plenty of football matches. I was at Everton for 11 years. I was at Preston before that. I lost lots of games and had difficult times. We have lost one in 13. If someone had been told before those 13 games we would lose one out of the next 13 the response might have been that is really good. Obviously, when you get to that point, you don’t say that.”

In Moyes his selection, management skills, preponderation, leadership skills and style of play we trust

:Y:  :Y:

We are Man Utd being 9th in December is fine, losing back to back at home is fine, no win in four games is fine, no chances created, no shots is fine, choping and changing CB and CM everyweek is fine, we should be happy and stay quiet because we have been successful most of our lives!!

Your strikers are getting no service

Tiote, Cabaye, Anita are bullying Jones and Cleverley

1 of your strikers is box player only, 1 is 50% fit

1 of your CM is a CB

So you keep both strikers on and bring on a CM for the only other CM on the pitch

Retain a 4-4-2

And have a left footer playing touch line right mid, a right footer playing touchline left mid

Midfield stays losing as Anderson is not as fit as Cleverly, and when he did surge forward, he left Jones by himself, and had no nobody to play a 1 2 with anymore

Then you have a striker on the bench who can play with his back to goal, who has good movement, good first touch, can drop off if the midfield is losing the battle, who can spread out on the wings and rotate with Adnan and Janajuz, yet he doesnt even come on

ffs man

No, none of its fine, it's almost completely discraceful,

However anyone who thinks. We sack Moyes employ a better manager and we go back to what we was is deluded.

Moyes has problems of his own making, but those are only some of the issues.

The problems stretch further than Moyes. He's a patsy. Was never fully equipped to carry the club next level without exceptional resources.

I have no issue with people saying he's not good enough, as I'd probably agree, but some are making out like HE is the issue. As I said on the last page there are a few issues coming to roost right now.

I am aware there are bigger issues

- Ed Woodward

- Lack of quality

- Losing Pogba and Ravel

- Wayne Rooney

- Midfield

- Giggs

- Injuries

- One dimensional wingers

- Over-reliance on Carrick

...and many more

But right now the main issue is Moyes

We can't put his feelings before the club

Throw him some money, make him step down to health and family reasons, bring in a stronger manager like Hykkes, who will scare the players for 18 months and force them to give 100%, knows how to handle the media, talk to players, manager a big club, play CL football, play good football, then go for someone like Klopp or De Boer or Pep

You cant manager a club when players are much bigger than you imo

The fact he cant put Rooney on the left/drop him, or drop RVP is testament to this

That game vs Real when Ferguson dropped Rooney for Welbeck, Moyes could not do that, that is wrong for the club imo

He is letting players pick themselves

He is a beta male

Ferguson put him in the best position to get rid of Rooney

Use that 30 mill to be buy Gundagon, it allows you to bring in a world class CM, and use the other money to buy another solid PL one like Cabaye

Rooney is gone, you can start RVP week in, week out, you can rotate with Welbeck and Hernandez,

Kagawa gets to play in his best position, Adnan can start left because Kagawa isn't, Nani/Zaha can start right eventually when we could have been balling and Valencia would've just got exposed for his running down the line and putting in a poor cross

---------------Carrick-------Gundagon-----------------

----Nani-----------------Kagawa-----------------Adnan--

-------------------------------------------------------------

------------------------------RVP---------------------------

See this has always been the underlying issue. We had the thread about which club was the biggest club in the world,

The comparison was made between us and Real and it was said that this would not be allowed at Real. Half if not more if the players we have now wouldnt be allowed at Real.

Someone made the comment that with Moyes United are gonna struggle to attract the big names. When did we ever? Even Veron didn't want to come that deal was brought on because of underhand stuff that was happening in Italy.

Would Real, Barca and Bayern seeing a huge hole in the midfield resist making a signing in this position for 5 years, in the meantime not doing their upmost to keep hold of Paul Pogba?

To the people who will cite not pandering to agents as an excuse, fair enough. Maybe Bebe can help us out of this rut.

I was one if the people beating the drum that we were as big if not bigger than anyone else. When I look at things soberingly are we?

Moyes wasn't a shock choice, it was the obvious one. Bayern's obvious choice was Pep.

Real- Ancelotti. Levels?

We sign Fellani to fill a 3/4 year old gap. Bayern sign Thiago to a squad that was already ridiculous. Real sign Bale, Barca sign Neymar. Ffs Arsenal sign Ozil and Spurs sign Man like Eriksen and Lamela. Levels?

I'm not gonna go into detail of when Roy Keane arguably the best CM in Europe at the time asked the European champions at the time for a 50k a week contract to put him in touching distance of his peers and the biggest club in the world were petting to give it to him despite spending most of the summer bragging about how they had made record profits for a football club and were now rivalling New York Yankees in terms of branding. (Lol, that still hasn't quite taken off has it)

The club move small time in some respects and always have. The difference is in the 90's they were willing to spend decent money to offset any tactical naivity (something he was regularly accused of) post 2005 the spending has fallen behind the peer clubs quite abit but we had Alex Ferguson in charge to get big performances out of mediocre players. Now we have none of the above,

I task anyone to look at the first 11's of the premiership and seriously tell me where United should finish.

I beg people stop mentioning Real Barca and Bayern in this thread as a rod for comparison when we have Jones and Cleverley in midfield and Anderson coming on, when Januzaj a fucking child is the top performer, (apart from Rooney who is vehemently disliked) Valencia, Young Giggs and them man are still integral parts of the squad, when that is addressed and the quality is brought up to the levels of the other 3 clubs mentioned rate the manager in those terms.

The problems are deeper than Moyes. He should be doing better but someone of his limitations should be given assistance to up his game, he was given Fellani.

Saw a comment on Twitter that said the bad times were on the cards when Tevez and Ronaldo went and were replaced by Valencia Owen and Obertan.

We had a hole in Midfield instead of flexing "the biggest club in the world, we are not hampered by debt muscle" we got Paul Scholes out of retirement.

Can someone confirm Pogba's wage at Juventus when he signed for them. I've heard rumours and it depresses me.

One of the guys who revel in bringing up comments from the past devoid of context can see fit to dig out when I said Moyes would come in and be replaced after 3/4 years by Pep or someone of that level when the club is debt free.

The main problem is clear, the squad is not what it should be and certain players are either ageing quickly or injury prone. This isn't a new issue and should have been addressed a while ago.

Secondary problem is the Manager, like the likes of Cleverly, Anderson, Young, Valencia, jones and a midfielder etc is probably not good enough to be involved with a united first 11. Tactics could serve to mask these deficiencies but for that we'd need somebody with that expertise at the very top level.

I come accross as a head in the sand Moyes bandwagon driver due to wanting people to look at the circumstances that has led David "I haven't a clue" Moyes in charge of the "biggest club in the world"

Another Everton fan here. I’m not here to gloat. I’m here to dispel the notion that David Moyes worked miracles for us. First of all, his appointment as Everton manager was to keep us from being relegated in our darkest times financially. His mentality at Everton was one that focused more on negating the opposition rather than attacking them. In other words, he was a lot more like Tony Pulis than Sir Alex Ferguson. His substitutions were highly reactive, rather than proactive, and in 11 years at the helm of Everton, only mass injury could force him out of that completely uninspiring 4411 formation that we so rigidly adhered to and you’ve recently adopted. Our capitulation to the sky 4 over his tenure, particularly on the away grounds where he totaled 0 wins in 44 attempts was a disgrace. The argument that Moyes was some kind of miracle worker is the nonsense spouted by the pro Liverpool media to undermine their oldest rival’s status as a sleeping giant in world football. The truth is our wage bill during his tenure was around an average of 8th and the man broke our transfer record a whopping 4 times. Considering that we finished typically between 6th-8th, that’s not the remarkable achievement it’s made out to be. It’s just on par with our spending.

So what was Moyes good at? Buying players. Plain and simple. He has an excellent eye for young, underrated talent and gets them on the cheap with remarkable consistency. Seamus Coleman and Tim Cahill were purchased for a combined 200k. But having a eye for talent and integrating young talent into a cohesive unit that can compete in the top 4 or for the title is something entirely different. For years, I saw players with promise played out of position or not played at all in favor of has beens and never wases. His methods took us as far as we could go. And in essence, that was nowhere.

Let’s be real. Managers change the complexion of clubs. No team has the divine right to reside at any part of the table year in and year out. It is earned. Before SAF took over at Old Trafford, Everton had won more trophies than Manchester United. But special people change the course of history. SAF was a winner at Aberdeen before he even showed up for christ sake. Moyes proved that no matter what he did, he couldn’t win anything in over a decade with Everton. Moyes is nothing special. He never was. And your fan base is entirely correct in calling for a new manager because nothing but mediocrity will follow his tenure anywhere he goes

This was the tactical changes that was made throughout last season's 3-0 away win @ Newcastle. The common theme was that we had 3 or 4 players in the middle of the park to either outnumber or match the number of players Newcastle had in there. We learned our lesson from the season before when we tried to go there with a 4-4-2 with Giggs in midfield and lost 3-0.

Now as soon as I looked at today's fixture I knew that Pardrew would go with midfield trio of Cabaye, Tiote and Anita. So it's basic common sense to pick 3 or 4 players from Jones, Cleverley, Anderson and Januzaj to either match or outnumber Newcastle in the middle.

And that's why I can't back Moyes and give him time because he's making basic schoolboy errors that a man of his experience and at this level shouldn't be making. Look at the amount of times throughout the season that he's made that same mistake in the games that we have dropped points. It's ridiculous. A better manager wouldn't have made the same mistakes and woud've got better results out of this squad.

I addressed this, don't blame the under qualified under skilled Moyes for being appointed, blame the criteria and procedure that was used to appoint him.

I'll ask again, why wasnt Manchester United fighting it out with Bayern for Pep. Why wasn't they going in for one of the promising young managers from accross Europe?

Don't tell me, "the brief was for a British a manager" as this is not the case. Sven has gone public with the badly kept secret that he was in kind to take over in the early 2000's.

Join the dots. Under skilled squad + under skilled manager = shite in the short term. Long term who knows?

Under skilled squad + exceptional manager = progressive and optimistic views of the long term, Long term now looks good.

What is done is done

Ferguson appointed Moyes

By the time he announced he was retiring, Pep had long agreed to coach Bayern

Board didn't have the balls to go with someone like Conte or De Boer straight after Ferguson

Klopp on the other hand, I honestly dont know, can only be because he German and the Glazers wouldnt be able to control him

Moyes didn't have to accept it, he choose to accept it

Me or you accept a job offer tommorow, we cant blame head of recruitment for our performance 6 months down the line, its on us imo

This is on him

I want him to succeed but I don't see it happening. He has no history of being a Winner. I don't think the players rate him or his staff that much. His interviews just bug the hell out of me, no charisma at all and just happy to put all his losses down to "Well that is Football".
