So what we thinking?

Go 4-3-3?

It would be the most logical move with the attacking talent at our disposal, but he already said he has to fit Rooney, rvp and mata into the team,

Unless he moves mata/Rooney/rvp out wide and di Maria on the right

/

Can see at least 3 players moving on next week now

Anderson

Zaha

Kagawa

Hernandez/Welbeck

Same reason why the club have reportedly said they'd allow Welbeck to leave, they need valuable assets to sell to attempt to balance the books or use as bargaining tools. and as you say he's all but surplus to requirements,

read something yesterday that the Benatia deal was being looked into again today.

and the other would be Blind.

The price for di María (in euros): United offered 60m, Real wanted 90. Final figure: 80 million, including adds on. £63.9m

€90 million is about £72 million so the geezer from Sky wasn't far wrong.

£60 million is a crazy price but I suppose needs must.

60 mill is a crazy price for the best player in La Liga last season?

For the guy who won Real La Decima?

For a guy just entering his prime?

For a world class player?

For a big game player?

Clueless

:lmao:

I wasn't aware he was the best player in La Liga last season, is this backed up by anything other than your post or...?

If he's just entering his prime how can he be all of the other things you're saying he already is such as world class and responsible for winning the European Cup all on his own?

Was Ronaldo not world class before he entered his prime? Is Neymar not?

Taking everything into consideration it is a crazy price.

Real have already spent €80 million on his replacement so he's already surplus to requirements.

He wants to leave.

He wants to go to Man Utd and has spoke about being a United fan as far back as 2008.

Apparently you're the only club in for him as PSG can't afford him due to FFP.

With all that said Real have managed to recoup the exact amount they spent on James for a player they don't want. Even though I think Real are nuts for gambling on James I must admit they've done a blinding bit of business to effectively get a player they deem to be better for nothing.

Why Ed Woodward thought it made sense to tell the whole world Man Utd had a shit load of money and that you were willing to break records etc etc is beyond me, Real saw you coming a mile away.

He's a top player but £63 million? Not for me.

We have no idea what Neymar's prime is, he's 22 years old.

It could be argued that the old way of thinking that a player peaks at 27-30 is outdated in the modern game given the demands placed on the body, when you look at someone like Messi who's been around for so long and already won so much I don't think it's crazy to predict his best years are behind him. Ronaldinho was on the decline when he left Barca at 28.

CRonaldo was world class before his prime but he's now catapulted himself into the category of all time elites by stepping it up another level.

I don't think Di Maria's performances thus far are comparable to Cronaldo's and I don't see him going up another level but we'll see.
