o-guy Posted July 15, 2010 Report Share Posted July 15, 2010 2.1 is standard in my eyes tbh, if I get it I won't be ecstatic but will be content id be happy with a 2.1. its what i got in my first two years working flat out so i had to earn it and felt happy about gettin it. most grad schemes recruit from 2.1 and up, but ye it is the common results which doesnt really make you stand out too much. tbh when i got my 2.1 i felt kindah shitty. It was what i had been aiming for considering i had pissed away my second year but when i got my 3rd year results and saw that i had got mostly 1st's, i just felt like i had let myself down. No subject in my 2nd year had been as difficult as my 3rd year. I'm sure i could of left uni with a 1st if i had just developed a sound work ethic earlier. But then i realised that 2.1's dn't come easy. Especially in the more difficult subject areas. It took work (more work as the years went on. i was very lazy in my 1st year but still got a high 2.1) and you should be proud of that. and tbh theres no where u can go with a 1st that u can't go with a 2.1( although admittedly things are easier with a 1st) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Guys expecting GOOD firsts and aren't doing 8hrs a day minimum are either the best of a thick bunch (since all uni work is marked according to everyone else's mark) or extremely intelligent, to near genius levels.
