The Gunners have been tracking the Russian playmaker for some time, with the saga showing no sign of reaching a conclusion.Arshavin's club, Zenit St Petersburg, had claimed on Monday that an agreement had been reached with Arsenal and all that was required for the deal to go through was for the player to agree terms.Wenger, though, insists that is not case and is refusing to let the episode divert attention away from the important business of generating results on the field."It is not true a fee has been agreed. We are not close to concluding any transfer; Arshavin or anybody else. At the moment it is all quiet," said the Frenchman."For me, it is of little interest. I can understand that when the transfer window is open, it makes headlines.Focus"I like quality football, and for me that is more important than having one more player here."Wenger added: "Time is getting short and at the moment I am more focused to win the game tomorrow (against Everton)."We know we are in front of a big game and the most important thing is to focus on that."For me, it is not a distraction because what is important is the team continues to focus on the championship, the FA Cup and the Champions League."Wenger also played down speculation linking him with a move for Manchester City centre-half Micah Richards."I like the player, but I have not gone for him, no," he said.

18.26 Russian schemer Andrei Arshavin's potential move to Arsenal may fall through because of the player's excessive financial demands regarding a bonus on his current contract, according to Zenit St Petersburg general director Maxim Mitrofanov."Mitrofanov earlier announced that the clubs had agreed a 15million transfer fee, however the deal is in danger of collapse after the player's demands to settle payments of half his bonus from his four-year-contract since 2006."I think that we are very close to a deal, we really want to sell him but I hope the player can forget about the huge sums of money he is asking for and I hope he can find a compromise," said Mitrofanov."We are ready but it is his decision. Is it his dream or is it just a question of money?""

Arsène Wenger believes the deal to bring the Russia international Andrei Arshavin to the Emirates is "90% completed" ."There is nothing new on Arshavin," he said last night after his side's 1–1 Premier League draw with Everton at Goodison Park. "I have been concentrating on the game and not taking calls. But the deal is maybe 90% completed. However, the final 10% of any deal can be the most difficult."Arsenal have been negotiating with the attacking midfielder's club, Zenit St Petersburg, for several weeks and the proposed deal has been stalling over the transfer fee – Arsenal are believed to have offered £12m – and the player's terms and bonuses."Maybe in the next two days," said Wenger, with the end of the transfer window looming on 2 February. "In this kind of job it can be difficult at this stage because people can change their minds completely."

Zenit claim they haven't received anything new from Arsenal but are certain a deal can be done. They want the full £15 million and it's done, not the £12 million with £3 million installments. Now the agent says they're no where near talking about personal terms, which is strange since we've heard they've done that.Oh well being dragged out a fair bit!
