I might aswell type up my view of Beijing so far, while I'm in my houtong ill as of right now, I guess it's been some food I've ate and it's not good at all being stuck on holiday ill, both of us are meant to be off to a kung-fu show tonight and off down the police station to fill out registration forms for a temporary stay, even though we've already filled in visas and arrival and departure forms!Anyways Beijing it's self is a really nice city with so much to do but some bad points to it. Which I will speak on first, the people are polite HOWEVER if any of you go and if any of you go whom are black etc just beware you will be getting so many people staring at you, it's not some screw face look it's just staring, that's how they are over here. It did piss us both off in the start and still does to an extent from when the key lock broke and we was all sitting outside my uncle's place the street was just full of people looking, or when we was on a coach ride back from The Great Wall Of China we was in a crash and people stop in the middle of the road to look at us like animals on a bus! It felt horrible just having all these people look at us (westerners). Times we've had people take pictures of us, me I've been approached by females when I've gone off to explore just for pictures. They spit and gob ANYWHERE on the street, I find it vile and dis-tasteful. You need someone who can speak English, because the language barrier is quite hard to get over at times, when in a taxi we've been asked so much sh*t and got no idea what he has said then we've ended up swearing like there's no tomorrow "f*ck you where the f*ck is this c*nt taking us" It's amazing how they just don't understand, one time we had a driver who took us to the wrong area cause he had no idea where we wanted to go, WE GAVE IT TO HIM IN CHINESE! and had to get my uncle's girlfriend on the phone who is English and can speak fluent Chinese (manderian) (also write it) . Finger signles will help you but shouting in English doesn't, when I tried to get an oyster card (not sure what it's called here) I pointed and gave her 100rmb (just under £10, journeys are 2rmb which is 20p yes that's the whole journey), telling her I want another one and she had no clue what I was on about and proceeded to ignore me for the guy behind, in the end got one thanks to help. Positive points, it's damn cheap in some parts, when you look at your bill you think 125 for a meal, what the f*ck! but it's just under £12.50 so it's all worth it. The Great Wall deserves it's own discussion point believe me. Club wise is good and fun, but them guys can't handle their drinks for sh*t! It's funny seeing us lasting the whole night and them all clearing out the place early or just dancing like a complete an utter twat! The odd few places where we've gone for food are really nice, Pizza Hut is so different in what you get and I'm telling you our one can learn a lot in the terms of styles of pizza and side orders they do here! McDonalds does a few diff things and one of the bits I got to eat has made me sick after a couple bites but other that that the Big Mac spot! Street Market it's something you must do, the downside is the smell after you've smelt it the first time and you walk back on it, not a nice one. Had a few bits to eat but hmm just seeing certain things to eat I just shook my head (pics below)3852597734_a8caf1b01f.jpg3851387984_8a0e0ec236.jpg3850586499_b95dfde132.jpg3852827516_c0afbd771d.jpgThe Bird's Nest is an incredible piece of structure and should I say art, it's is HUGE! I've never been in a stadium quite like it, you could just imagine the buzz and feeling off of watching Bolt and co win their medals. The Great Wall of China is well and truly something else, this is a serious hike of 10km, up and down going over broken bricks, eroding away, bits shattered. Both of us were still buzzing from the passed few hours of drinking etc and lack of sleep. Neither of us prepared for this what so ever, while the rest of our groups were looking as if they're ready. If anyone does it here you will get people from Mongolia, offering their services to you to be a tour guide, and want to take you on a short cut, but I tell you do not do this. They will take you to Watchtower 25 and they will keep asking you "You want to buy some gifts, you buy now?" "Why not?" Just tell them no or ignore and walk on, just beware of them trust me! When you do finally complete the wall it's such a sense of achievement and great feeling that I've walked one of the wonders of the world all be it 10km but get in! To get to the other part where you get food you can either walk OR you can use this thing which I can't remember and get this type of stunning view.2czvtdd.jpgFake Louis Vuitton bags! It had me rolling soon as we walked into the Silk Street market, this guy showed us a book full of bags, of course the real deal from Louis Vuitton, after we picked out something we liked they took us down to a warehouse, yes 2 westerns just taken to a warehouse (which is a room downstairs) so below is a picture of one of the bags. As I was taking pictures she become some what nervous and closed, then kept asking "Why you taking pictures?" "You want to buy bag?" Of course there was no way I'd touch a copy fake bag and seeing the bag I bought back in Paris from Louis Vuitton, copied made me roll with laughter and feel sick deep down. As we said "no" she eventually farted yes a woman farted in front of the pair of us! The face from us 2 was priceless, money can't buy that kind of moment. These people in this Silk Market will GRAB you and want you to buy all their copy fake sh*t, just don't make eye contact or talk to them, I got in an arguement with a woman cause I said "no" to a camera bag and she tried to have a dig at me about my Paul Smith bag, "That bag don't suit you" "Oh it does, it's works and it's the real deal", "It's no good" "Trust me it does, you know sh*t"259lftg.jpgr1yhav.jpgOut here you're an alien! Out here they're so simple!Getting the subway, or even out of a lift will mean pushing and jumping the queue! Soon as they step out the door PUSH your way through, it's nothing like here where we wait and then go. Queuing up is another matter, they just don't do it! So if you think someone will jump in front of you, simply cut them up or block off any way around.I could go on but I will do more later on, overall Beijing has been quite an incredible experience to learn culture wise, taken in something really new, different, and feel like the odd one out. Language is very difficult to master, good luck actually getting anywhere with it and trying to get around it, I would advise you go and see Beijing at some point just be prepared.

Sounds sick Stat... are you staying in China your whole time? How easy is to get from China to Japan?Keep dropping updates!
Yeah just been in China, went to Qingdao which is on the east coast of China, got a beach but we ended up going down there for the weekend to a beer festival, never have I seen so many drunk Chinese folk in my life! They had huge jugs of all different kinds of beer flowing, Went to 3 different tents, all run by the big brewers with loads of other beer on sale. One tent did karaoke , and I was praying they don't call our table because I doubt anyone would understand the 4 of us or even 1 of us, sh*t was bad from some people and these people got dressed up in what I guess is traditional clothing, another tent had this guy singing I have no idea who he was but it was funny when he tried to jump on a table, slipped on the bench, leg caught the table and he dropped like a mother f*cker! I was in stitches with my beer, the toilets were disgusting! I've never witnessed something so bad, basically it's one on the floor you can stoop to sh*t or stand to piss so as I pissed erm let's say it wouldn't flush so there was sh*t and sick all over the show, then the TAPS never worked for water, ended up walking round to find a working one.zlt3c6.jpgYesterday was the final sight seeing trip, Forbidden City, Summer Palace, Temple Of Heaven and 3 factories where you watch people do work and then realise it's so forced and fake beyond belief. Went to the same hostel we did for the Great Wall of China to book it, they don’t run it, it’s them and a bunch of other hotels who team together and get the middle man to do the rest. So it was only the 2 of us for this trip which was pretty damn good, so we’d learn a lot more but believe me that was hard to take in, so much information and it just reminded me of the guy reading from a text book or off Wikipedia. When you normally go ermm or try to back track this guy just stopped and couldn’t remember, was a nice guy though we got on well and enjoyed the extra company. Gave us a real insight to what each place was about and the history behind them. A few pics below of where we did visit. Now if anyone visits these factories or places where they do their work just be warned they will try to get you into buying things from them I.e. went to a silk market, where of course they make silk clothing and silk bedding. Talked to us about the history of silk how it’s made etc *yawn* then you go watch people work and the most obvious one about it being fake was these four women pulling the silk to stretch and make a big douvet. Soon as we walked over they started pulling, we move away they stop, another group go in they pull, it’s an ACT! They don’t really do them in the show rooms. You then get walked around the shop with the guy following you saying “That looks nice” yeah all that bullshit trying to get you to buy it! Not working son! Pearl market was the same show the expensive first then cheap last. All this other place in which the name has slipped my mind, show us all the expensive stuff trying to get us into buying a Terracotta Warrior yes the real deal! Amazing to see buy please we can’t afford that, then showed us this “magic mug” in which you put hot water in and it amazingly changes to a picture of China, oooooooo, lucky my bullshit lie worked. The older generation are so energetic in what they do, playing badminton, learning fencing, dancing, all this other stuff in the park is amazing.2d0mo02.jpgjuhml1.jpgo5bwxg.jpg2dahnuv.jpgWent for a meal in a Japanese restaurant, and the service was the worst I've ever had how can you forget our starter! then bring the main courses at different times, have no coke, no 7-up no fizzy orange yet have lemon-coke! Then proceed to bring the desserts at different times what a f*ck*ng joke, yet all the staff are sitting and eating, it's mind boggling! Some group walked out without paying and then they try to go after them when they've turned the corner. Run like a sh*t hole. From China to Japan should be pretty easy, not sure how long it would be though.Last day, just doing the final rounds of shopping, need some art work and guess it will mean more haggling, yes you have to haggle here in some shops.

Who went to Cuba ??Been searching for a nice hotel somewhere in Havana for the last few hours, all of the ones I have seemed to find have mixed reactions and do not look to be in tiptop shape...Was thinking of thishttp://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel_Review-...Norte_Cuba.htmlbut it's not in the heart of Havana
Havana is shegged tbh. its worth seeing but VERY shegged. If you go Varadeo then Iberostar is the one.

Quick questionIs there a time limit for getting a renewed passport to when you next book a holiday? (I'm guessing quite obviously not, but still). & Is the fee for a renewal still around £75? + Stat I would do a review about Japan but haven't found the time to sit & write. My brother went Beijing for the Olympics (lucky guy) and funnily enough said pretty much the same downsides as you. I'm not sure whether to visit (also study in) Shanghai or Beijing next year. Need to make a decision quick! Sounded like you had a v. good time though + I'm sure you're ecstatic for Japan (whenever you will be going).
