Also... LOCKE IS NOT SPECIALHe is just your standard geezer, the same guy we met in season one.The same bloke who had a dead end job in a box companyThe same bloke who fell in love with a girl he used to ring up on a sex chat lineA pathetic, broken, lonely old man
Sad, Locke was a top character but it just turned out to be a sham.

its all a load of bollocks really
Lost is the Tv equivilant of listening to a Max B/French Montanna or Gucci Mane CD or any of these new "cutting edge artists"you either love it for being something flawed, not as good lyrically as allot of the best but never the less interesting and exciting or you stick in ur 36 chambers cd till ur ears bleed(big lyracists in the game are equivlant to the wire and sopranos)

Got this from Lost Forums. Its a good theory.

The episode starts off with Jacob and the man in Black (satan). They begin talking like i would imagine God and Satan talking. very calmly, satan obviously supressing anger and god taking a higher ground. God offers satan fish. satan says he wants to kill god, but they have a pact in which they are not allowed to attack one another. instead, they have to fight their war on Earth by influencing humanity. This is what was observed in this episode as "the loophole" to murder Jacob. Satan (the man in black who took the shape of Locke, because the devil takes many forms) manipulated and influenced Ben (humanity) to kill God (Jacob). God (Jacob) always gives a choice and a chance for humanity to take the higher ground. a chance was offered to both ben and hurley in this episode. Jacob also has the ability to heal and perform miracles, because it showed him giving life to Locke again after he fell out of the window. Now if this is true, then it puts the 6th and final season of Lost in a very interesting position in which God is dead. i'm really interested to see where this goes.what do you think?

I think people are going to literal. It is not God and Satan. They would not be dumb enough to do something which is basically blasphemous in a country that has such powerful religious factions.I like the Jacob and Esau one better. Gonna read that passage in the bible tomorrow to see if it goes beyond the names (which I'm guessing it will).

yh the smoke is the devil or some sort of evil. jacob is good but i dont understand is why then did he warn smoke monster that "they were coming" cos i thought the guys with the box were on jacobs side thats why they ask that question, only jacobs ppl know the answer i.e. richard knewim curious as to what that circle of ash outside the cabin meant and its significance. the circle of ash was broken n they imediatley got shook that someone else had been there.smoke monster was manipulating ppl the whole time, and it seems like it can only take the form of dead ppl (jacks dad, yemi, boone, bens daughter)what i dont get is how the smoke monster had lockes form whilst locke was alive n sent richard into the jungle to heal him, the timeline of it baffed me. real locke flashed to the future and was told by richard via smoke monster that he has to die then goes back n starts his little quest.so smoke monster already knew he would die so they must be in some continous time cycle thingy otherwise how did he know when n where locke would be......

They were also not scared that they would burn down the jungle. I think the place has been burnt before but it has a forcefield (sorry to go sci fi but that's the only word I can think of) around it to stop it from burning out on the rest of the jungle. Just some of the ash flys out around it.The bit where smoke Locke and real Locke were there together is beacuse real Locke was moving through time in current day but in that time he was just a visitor to that moment. So he wasn't alive then, he was alive in the future but visited upon that time. He knew Locke would be there because he became Locke. Everytime he becomes someone dead he knows everything about them. He knew enough about Christian to f*ck with Jack even though he had never been alive on the island.Still want an explanation as to why it murked Eko. I think it may have been because he was getting all Christian.

Sick finale! From another board:Locke was just a pawn, but when you look at it so was Ben. We all think Ben is so evil but I can bet any money that at the end he had somewhat good intentions the whole time. Ben and Whitmore are just the generals in this war, the smoke monster and Jacob are the real commanders. The war between Jacob and the Smoke Monster... I can only compare it to The First from Buffy the Vampire Slayer. IF you haven't watched the show The First was the very first evil in the creation of the universe that was so powerful that it could shapeshift and take control of a person's body when their dead and interact with the living and influence people to do their bidding. I think that's what the Smoke Monster is, a evil that influenced Ben and The Others and needed them to kill Jacob. But Jacob wasn't interested to see Ben so the Smoke Monster had to get someone else to get close to Jacob and Locke was the perfect candidate cause he had the most f*cked up backstory that he would follow along with that "Destiny" bullsh*t. But the loophole is that the Smoke Monster couldn't kill Jacob in any form he's in, that's why "Locke" was so forceful to Richard to allow Ben to come with him to see Jacob because Ben has no restrictions and can kill Jacob. Now the Smoke Monster has control of THe Island, but Jacob's Secret Plan to reverse time (the reason why Jack and the others are on the island in the first place to set off that bomb) will bring Jacob back to life and erase everything that's happened... that's just what I think.
theory is deep still , it does seem to make sense of the smoke monster taking the form or Locke and then the smoke monster telling Ben to do everything that John says otherwise he'll kill himand the fact jacob sent them all back to 1977 to stop Locke from even coming to the IslandBen was pouring out his heart to the man, and Jacob brushed off his life story with 3 words lmao..deaded The episode was sick managed to refrain myself from watching it online aswell and waited till tonight...

As i keep saying JJ Abrams is a genius. What a great episode, i'm actually lost for words, i'm really am. The Egyptian influence is taking Lost onto a whole new scale now. And the story itself isn't dragging on as people used to say, this time it's taken some form of shape and morphing itself into a great storyline. I now know Lost isn't based by the cliched word 'Destiny', but it's now based upon a personal vendetta that has dragged other people's lives onto the boat of manipulation. I wasn't overwhelmed by the way Llana responded to Richard as Ricardus but it gave me a clue on why Richard has lived so long. A great finale to say the least. Also could you lot send me a link to the msg boards you are viewing that are coming up with this interesting theories on Lost. safe
