ARSENE WENGER is ready to enter a bidding war with AC Milan to pit Yaya Toure alongside brother Kolo at Arsenal.Boss Wenger is preparing a £12million bid for the Barcelona star but accepts he may have to improve on that following the midfielder’s impressive Champions League performances against Chelsea and Manchester United. As Yaya proved in Barca’s European glory run, he could also play alongside Kolo, 28, in the centre of defence.Yaya, 25, had a trial at Arsenal in 2005 but failed to seal a permanent move and joined Olympiacos instead. He said: “It’s true that it would be great to play for a big club with my brother. That would be fantastic but you never know.”

Udinese defender Cristian Zapata has claimed a number of clubs, including Arsenal, have made enquiries about his availability. The powerful Colombian was linked with a move to the Gunners last summer after it was suggested Udinese rejected a £9.5million bid.Zapata, 22, has impressed in Serie A this campaign and he has suggested a move away from Stadio Friuli could be in the offing.Zapata said: "Juventus, Fiorentina, Milan, Arsenal and Villarreal have asked for information about me."Lots of teams follow me, but there is need of a concrete offer. I feel good. I played a good championship on a personal level and I am happy."Being in Italy also gives me the opportunity to play for my country and attempt to go to the World Cup in South Africa next year."He added to calciomercato.com: "I repeat I have a contract until 2013, but if Udinese receive a good offer they will sell me."Udinese have no need to sell me quickly. I am 22 and I have become a guarantee. We will see what happens in the future."

AC MILAN have revealed they will battle Real Madrid for the signature of Cristiano Ronaldo. The Italian giants are on the verge of selling superstar midfielder Kaka to Real for a world record £62m fee.And Milan have now targeted the 24-year-old Manchester United ace to replace the gifted Brazilian.World Player of the Year Ronaldo now seems set to be thrust into another summer tug-of-war between two of Europe's biggest powerhouses.United boss Alex Ferguson will do all he can to hang on to the Portugal international. But that has not deterred Milan president Silvio Berlusconi, who claims to have already spoken to the winger.Berlusconi said: "I told Cristiano Ronaldo that I would like to see him as a Rossonero."He looked at me, and said 'Who doesn't like Milan? All players would like to come to Milan'."
LIVERPOOL full-back Andrea Dossena has issued a 'come-and-get-me' plea to Juventus. The defender moved to Anfield in a £7million switch from Udinese last summer after Rafa Benitez beat off competition from the Italian giants. But Dossena, 27, suffered a patchy first season with the Reds, appearing in less than half of their league games. And although goals against Real Madrid and Manchester United saw his fortunes change towards the end of the campaign, he has now set his heart on a move back to his home country.Dossena said: "I have talked to Rafa Benitez. He is a wonderful person and has understood my problem."He told me that if they receive an offer that satisfies both the club and me, he will facilitate my transfer."I would run to Juve. They showed interest in me last year, but then Liverpool stepped in and wrapped things up in less than an hour."In England they play continuously and the hardest training session does not last more than 40 minutes, but I need to train longer."Now I truly hope to join Juve and start a new life."

Real Madrid must pay Man Utd's Ronaldo £26M if he STAYSManchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo will be handed a staggering £26 million by Real Madrid - if does NOT join them this summer. The Daily Star says former Madrid president Ramon Calderon reportedly promised the Ronaldo camp last summer he would do whatever it took to sign the Manchester United winger. And that means Madrid could have to pay £80m to trigger an alleged buy-out clause in his contract.Calderon was so confident of landing the 24-year-old, he agreed to pay him 30m Euros (£26m) if a deal was not clinched by the end of June. Ronaldo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, it is claimed in several Spanish newspapers, is said to have agreed to pay the same amount to Real if his client backed out of the move.New Real vice-president Fernando Tapias refused to deny the outlandish claim on Spanish radio station Cadena Copè.It was put to him: “I don’t know what is worse – if the club buys him he will cost 90m euros and if they don’t then it’s 30m.He replied: “Yes but that is not our fault. He is a great player.“That the price is exorbitant is also true. Maybe it is down to FIFA to put a 50m Euros cap on transfer fees. ”
lol @ his life, does what he wants @ utd while he's winning trophies, could move to madrid for a world record fee, or could get 26 MIL for nothing!!

It's so frustrating, if only we could have stayed around the top 3/4/5 until the Champs League expanded to 4 places things would be so different now.Right now we have the best chairman in the league - who is also a billionaire, one of the best managers in the country who KNOWS how to win games in the Premiership and we still can't compete.

Has given us ALOT of money out of his own pocket - no strings attached. Never see him bitching/moaning in the media. Has his right hand man posting on unofficial fan forums to keep fans updated. Re-opened the Holte Pub. Built us the best training ground in Europe. Gave up our shirt sponsor to advertise a local childrens hospice. Hasn't highered season ticket prices. Has done up Villa Park. Put our manager 100% in control of everything football related. Got us a better kit manufactorer. Won't sell anyone without the managers say so. Is going to increase capacity.Plus he genuinely liked the club before buying us.What more could you possibly want?

Why would Yaya join Arsenal this summer tho? Last summer when it was debatable if he'd start yeah but now, IMO it wouldn't make sense, other than to play with his brother but even thats a big reach. As for Villa, their first 6-7 months of the season is now their downfall. Its like Arsenal 2007/08 season, players played so well, made the World notice then the failure in the final months is making players feel the club isnt enough. O'Neill has a job on his hands to keep his better players or he should just pray nobody actually firms up real bids. TBH he should have started showing intend already, not selling Barry...
