OFFICIAL CAR/DRIVING TOPIC

I can see where this is going..bunch of bandwagoners (not everyone) who have never owned or even driven said cars but still feel to comment lol

from what iv heard & looked up on myself.. there's nothing wrong with the VXRs build up and not much at all to worry about in terms of reliability, espically on a 08/58 one that's been well looked after

Depends which R32.

R32 Mk4 has kept its value, but I'd have an Edition 30 Mk5 over the Mk5 R32

Oh yeah, why hasn't the Focus ST been mentioned?

Get alot more for the money

If I was to get a golf, I'd get the Mk6 GTTDI, same look and extras as the GTI but with all the economy savings on fuel.

If the guy wants a vxr get a vxr its ur money most man here dont even drive so take opinions with a pinch of salt

There seems to be this badge snobbery mentality that people would rather have a poverty spec bm or merc audi etc with a shitty engine 318d 320d etc etc with no extras than a top spec vehicle of another make eg r32, st's, vxr etc just becuase of the name. Its a joke

U spend 12k on a bmw but u got cloth seats lol bun dat

if he didnt want to hear opijions then why did he ask for them

if not for the build of a shitty vauxhall the depreciation on them is a madness as well

vxr next to an s3/gti/r32 no way

altho i do agree with the spending 12k and then having cloth seats but who does that?

why would you choose some plasticy build over german build.

vxr is good, i like it... but quality of r32 is in a different class.

All cars have faults, Toyota proved this. Unless your splashing out for at least a GTR-35 or R8 then all cars are just as bad as the other, but they have their own USP.

i did want to hear opinions still but suggesting a bmw/porsche for 12k is just silly IMO i wouldn't even concider a BMW unless i could afford a mid range 30k one,, not a very low range 12k one.

R32 - Engines too big for me atm i'm only 21 i don't want a 3.2 litre

so in terms of what i like it's prob between the VXR and a decent Golf TDI or GTI.. Don't really want bigger than a 2.0L.

the fact you're laughing at the VXR being a vauxhall is pointless because i won't keep the car for many years (prob a year or 2 max) and with a 58/59 plate, not a lot is going to go wrong within 2 years..it will still be quite new.

by the time i decide i'll prob have saved enough for a better car anyways  i'm soo tight with my money, hate spending it.

Just buy the VXR. They are fast at straight lines and have all the fancy gadgets + the turbo sound is nice!

I do think a lot of people on here gas, especially when they go on about buying the base model versions of expensive BMWs or Mercs. Having a decent car with the highest specs >>>>>>>>>>>>>> Slow merc or bm that has no gadgets and takes 14 seconds to get to 60mph.

Most of u man are chatting out your arses.

For 12k you won't be getting anything fresh from BMW Audi or merc. Personally I'm not on buying anything less then 2008.

12k Old shape or new with dumb mileages. man suggesting cayenne's and x5 for 12k... f*ck off, typical monkey mentality.

Go for VXR for 10 bags, sensible option.

You will still struggle getting insured on the VXR i think its group 17, i couldn't get insured on an R32 had to go through a link and thats only one group higher plus im female, 21 with no points or claims.

How much you willing to pay for insurance

I'll prob go on my dads' insurance again if i go for the VXR, he's got bare no claims etc and i generally know how to get my insurance down if need be... haven't really got a budget because i just started a new job which gets me quite a nice wage + my savings..12k was just a figure i set myself because im tight with spending... thought about keeping it for a deposit on a house/flat but i got it easy at home i'm not gunna lie i'm happy here for a few more years.
