good news guysbarca only have 40m in their transfer budget

rsenal may have to sell Cesc Fabregas for far lower than their £45m valuation, it has emerged, as Barcelona revealed their summer transfer budget is just £40mThe Catalan giants are also chasing Villarreal's £25m-rated striker Giuseppe Rossi and £30m Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez in addition to renewing their long-standing interest in the Arsenal skipper, which means any funds at their disposal are set to be stretched to the limit.Barcelona's vice-president for economic affairs, Javier Faus said on Wednesday the European champions have £40m in the pot for transfers this summer plus anything raised by player sales.Goal.com revealed in March that the Gunners were prepared to sanction a switch for their captain if the La Liga champions could match their £45m valuation of the Spain midfielder. While possible exits for starlets Jeffren Suarez and Bojan Krkic would increase Barca's transfer funds, it appears Arsenal may have to revise their price after the Camp Nou club confirmed another year of losses."Barcelona have €45m (£40m) for transfers, plus the money that can be obtained from sales of players in the close-season,” Faus told his club’s official website.“When we speak about sales we will only consider those that are beneficial to the club."The Spanish Supercup to be played against Real Madrid in August would bring in some €3m (£2.6m) of extra income.”Faux also announced that the Spanish and European champions have reduced their pre-tax loss in the year to the end of June and added that while revenues during this period were €420m (£374m), their spending was trimmed from €495m (£440.5m) to €441m (£392.5m).“We are delighted with that outcome," Faus enthused."It is the best possible investment because Barca has never been as recognised in brand terms as it is now.”Barcelona’s gross debt stands at around €483m (£430m) and the net debt is at €364m (£324m), a fall from €532m (£474m) and €431m (£384m) respectively at the same time last year, and Faux wants even more favourable figures at this time next year."There has been a very significant effort, which will continue over the next two years, to cut this debt,” he said.“For this board of directors, this milestone is unavoidable and cannot be waived.“FC Barcelona lost €83m (£73.9m) last year and €21m (£186.m) this year and it cannot allow itself to continue losing money."

Skysports.com understands Manchester United have stepped up their interest in Arsenal midfielder Samir Nasri.Speculation has intimated Nasri is on United's radar and skysports.com has now learnt he is the club's top target. The talented French schemer's reluctance to engage in contract talks with Arsenal until he is satisfied their transfer targets are of the required standard to mount a title push next season has alerted Sir Alex Ferguson to his possible availability.Despite being close to wrapping up a deal for Blackburn defender Phil Jones and Atletico Madridgoalkeeper David de Gea, amid widespread speculation Aston Villa's Ashley Young is also heading for Old Trafford, Ferguson's appetite for new signings has yet to be sated.Nasri is seen as an ideal replacement for the retired Paul Scholes, with the centre of the field an area United's management are keen to revamp with fresh talent.Inter Milan's Wesley Sneijder has been linked but Nasri, with just a season left on his existing deal, could be a more realistic deal to finance.Arsene Wenger would be loath to lose one of key men, especially given Nasri's exit would likely lead to other members of his squad questioning their own futures. However, United are now ready to test Arsenal's resolve to keep a player who has previously intimated he would be open to the prospect of moving to Manchester.

Arsenal have made contact with Lille regarding the summer transfer of Belgian international Eden Hazard.A source close to the player revealed to Arseblog News that the Gunners are in discussions with the club regarding a move this summer, however, the talks are at an early stage with more news expected next week.Negotiations have stalled over the contract of playmaker Samir Nasri while the future of skipper Cesc Fabregas is still uncertain, and Wenger is actively looking to strengthen the Gunner’s squad ahead of the new season. The source explained that both clubs were in talks over a move although details will remain private, with the Belgian international tipped to replace Nasri at Arsenal following the club’s refusal to break the club’s wage structure to keep the 24-year-old.Hazard, 20, was a principal protagonist in Lille’s historic Ligue 1 and French Cup Double win last season and has regularly spoken of his preference to move to Arsenal over other rival suitors.During an Arsenal press conference in January Wenger even responded to speculation when asked by a French reporter if he was aware that it was the Belgian’s “dream” to seal a move to the Emirates.“It’s a very good question. We follow him. And personally I think he’s a real talent, and he’s good enough to play for Arsenal, yes.” Wenger explained.Hazard became the youngest player to win the Ligue 1 Player of the Season award last term with Wenger keeping a regular watch over the talented forward. The Frenchman recently sent a scout to monitor his performance in the European Championship qualifier against Turkey last Friday.http://news.arseblog.com/index.php/2011/06/exclusive-arsenal-make-contact-with-lille-for-hazard/

@thegoonblog The Goon BlogJust been told that Samba is very close to signing for #afc. Fee around £9m. Not a player I really want, think he is a heffalump, but the information is from a solid source. I'm not joking around.. I think #afc defensive problems are more organisational based than just the personnel. Deeper rooted problems.
