For one I wasn’t really a fan of Gervinho mainly because that’s the least pressing area we needed to address. Centre backs, another defensive midfielder maybe, a more experienced goal keeper. They where all better arguments than Gervinho, who looks like he’ll be replacing whoever plays on the left side of the three. What’s confusing is that Arshavin doesn’t seem to be going anywhere and neither is Walcott, so we’ve got a extra wide man on the bench. Now as much as current our wide men are hot and cold replacing them is NOT a priority. For me its like buying alloys for a car that doesn’t start. I’d rather get the car rolling before I replacing working parts on the car for better ones.Creativity wasn’t the problem for us last season, infact it never really is. Its defence where we always suffer, yet where willing to throw 11m which will probably go up with adds, on another wide man but we won’t pay the 17m for Cahill or the 11/12mill that would probably get Samba. I would have even been happier to see an out and out striker arrive before another wide man. Man Utd can get away with having 3 wide men because they haven’t got to worry about leaking goals every game and throwing away a 4-0 leads.
